When athletes win the big game, where do they often say they're going to go? Disney. After winning $1 million playing 50X the Cash, that's exactly where Jasmine Eaves of Lawndale in Cleveland County says she's taking her kids. She bought her lucky ticket at Kebo's Archery on Polkville Road in Shelby.

A pair of $150,000 Powerball prizes were also claimed this week. Brady Medlock of Gastonia and Terry Biggers of Charlotte won the prizes in the Feb. 27 drawing. Two $50,000 Powerball prizes won that night have yet to be claimed. The lucky tickets were sold at the Desperados Western Market on Second Avenue in Siler City and at the Marathon on Main Street in Lincolnton.

A Brunswick County man won $25,000 in Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing thanks to a Megaplier of five. Robet Lilly of Bolivia bought his winning ticket at the Kangaroo Express on Main Street in Shallotte. Friday's jackpot weighs in at a $144 million annuity worth $94.4 million cash.

And wrapping up jackpot game news, the Carolina Cash 5 jackpot has climbed to $443,000 heading into Friday's drawing. It's always interesting to see what happens!

An All or Nothing ticket sold in Cumberland County won the game's $250,000 top prize in Friday's drawing. The ticket was purchased at the Murphy Express on Lillington Highway in Spring Lake.

Three Lucky for Life tickets sold in our state matched four white balls and the Lucky Ball to win $5,000 apiece. They were sold at:

- Charlotte Fast Mart on Tom Hunter Road in Charlotte
- Eagles on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh
- Metro Mart on Raleigh Boulevard in Rocky Mount

Turning to more big scratch-off wins this week, four players won $50,000:

- Emmette Heck of Sanford (100X The Cash)
- Elvira Roach of Morganton (Ruby Red Crossword)
- Robert Fowler of Raleigh (50X The Cash)

A Caldwell County woman became the first to win the $30,000 top prize in the new $2 Golden Ticket game. With Amy Biggs' claim, three more top prizes - and many other prizes - remain to be claimed in the game.

Three players claimed $20,000 apeice after they won big playing 20X The Cash:

- Johnnie Mason of Gastonia
- Robert Sullivan of Henderson
- Gregorios Kalaitzidis of Durham

Nine more players won $10,000 instantly:

- Chinita Brown of Rowland (5X The Cash)
- Kayla Walters of Nashville ($200 Million Blowout)
- Brandon Lineberry of Greensboro ($200 Million Blowout)
- Hai Xiao of Greensboro (20X The Cash)
- Zhaliah Thompson of Knightdale (10X The Cash)
- James Fonville of Havelock ($4,000,000 Multiplier Spectacular)
- Deborah Jurgens of Charlotte ($4,000,000 Multiplier Spectacular)
- Kenneth McKoy of Lillington (10X The Cash)
- Melissa Bradley of Rutherfordton (Merry Mega Bucks)

Thanks for taking time to read the blog. Until next time we hope you have a fun and safe weekend. See you soon here in the Lucke-Zone.

Why don't ya'all make it mandatory to have a user name instead of default name as player? That would help people find their comments on here.NC Lottery
We wish it had been set up that way in the first place. When our website and the Lucke-Zone get updated we are hoping to see this change made! :)

I like the new Lucky For Life game. It's a great feeling to imagine winning the jackpot and being able to help yourself and help others. Best of luck to everyone.

I might be mistaken, but you you still haven't addressed the question of how many scratch off tickets are allotted per game nor the lottery's collection/take on such games as Cash 5 or the pick 3's or 4's. Where can I find this information?NC Lottery
We posted your comment and responded with the information you asked for. Check back on previous blogs and you'll see where you posted your comment and where we responded. It is easy to calculate how many tickets are printed for each instant game. Just multiply the odds of winning the top prize by odds of winning it. Four top prizes and 1 in 1 million odds = 4 million tickets. All of our sales and financial information is in our annual reports posted in the ABOUT section on our website. All of our practices and financials are reviewed by independent auditors.

We quit all scratch off tickets, all of them are no good. When you spend $100.00 at one time on them and only win $10.00 it certainly is not worth it,second chance and all. No more money in your pockets.

3/05/2016 11:43 - Geraldine B.

I have played since i knew there were second chance drawings.i understand we are suppose to enter 75 for the games. some days after entering the right amoun it will come up 75 and other times the total will come 90 or over a hundred. TELL ME WHY and if i am doing wrong let me know.NC Lottery

Why are the draw tickets so hard to scan, but the scratch offs are easy to scan?

3/05/2016 09:59 - NC Lottery

The lottery has a universal responsibility to the citizens of North Carolina, whether they play the lottery or not, to offer fair games to players and operate as efficiently as possible to provide money for education. By law, the lottery is allowed to spend up to 8% of its revenue on operating expenses. But you'll be glad to know we spend closer to 4%. The lottery's executive director is paid $164,000 less per a year than the salary you stated. You would be hard-pressed to find a business executive who leads a $2 billion sales organization that is paid more modestly than that to earn a profit of half a billion dollars a year for the public good. All of this information is public and can be found on our website or elsewhere on the internet.

3/05/2016 09:38 - stephen r.

The Lottery s' first responsibility is not to the educational system, but to your over head such as payroll, building costs (at all cost associated with that responsibility, and cost of the tickets. and speaking of payroll- what exactly is the responsibilities of the lottery's commissioner that warrants a yearly salary of $365,000 a year. Not bad for a legal bookie!

Congratulations all you Winners! Woot woot

3/05/2016 05:25 - Chester W.

odds are way too high on the scratch offs tickets; please pass this along to the folks in charge! That is why many people are upset. Those tickets can be printed as per the odds per game and it wouldn't change your profit; actually it would increase profits!NC Lottery
Our instant games pay out at a higher rate today than they ever have before. We understand your point, which is why we have increased the value of the games for players. But like many state lotteries we have a responsibility not just to players but to the state - in our case for our profits to benefit education. Good luck!

I want to b the next winner.

LZ, are u going 2 share with us where the big winning ticket of Thursday's AON was bought? Or are you waiting to put that in another blog? Or maybe till they come forward? Not me , but I was at the Marathon on Main Street in Lincolnton last week. I just wonder if I was in line with the 50k PB winner.NC Lottery
Hey, we meant to include that in this blog, so thanks for the reminder. We updated it. The winner came in late Friday, here's their story: http://bit.ly/1QZdl99

3/04/2016 01:32 - lisa p.

I didn't take scratch offs could get any worse but when you're spending 20 to $30 a day and maybe get a break even price that's sad 1 out of 4 is ridiculous maybe 1 out of 20 and then you just break even or maybe a dollar up we pay for your building now pay us

3/04/2016 12:08 - jason r.

Where was all or nothing ticket sold at?thxNC Lottery
Thanks for asking, we meant to include that info in the blog - so we added it :) But here it is for you, too: The $250,000-winning All or Nothing ticket was purchased at the Murphy Express on Lillington Highway in Spring Lake.
