Entry totals for drawings to be held Wednesday

"How many entries were made for the drawing?" If you've read the blog comments, you've seen this question asked - you might have even asked it yourself! And while we do our best to answer those questions, with four drawings scheduled for Wednesday, we thought "Why not just post a blog with those totals and more?"

So here goes:

- The $2,500 Sweetheart Cash drawing will give us 10 winners of $2,500. Total entries: 863,638.

- We'll get our Grand Marshal and Honorary Starter in the NCEL 200 Race Ticket Package drawing, not to mention 20 winners that will get race ticket packages. Total entries: 78,499.

- In this week's Winning Wednesdsay drawing, one lucky winner will get a $2,500 prize. Total entries: 253,981.

- Someone's going to win 1,000 lbs. of pork in the third and final BBQ Bucks second-chance drawing. And a Big Green Egg Grill with accessories to cook it up. Total entries: 101,474.

I was just getting ready to email my question about the drawings when I stumbled on this info. Love it! However, now my hopes are dashed when I see just how many people entered these drawings. I had a "whopping" 44 entries in the $2,500 Sweetheart Cash, and 21 in the Nascar Race, with a great feeling that I might actually win. Unfortunately, reality has set in.NC Lottery

I think results should be private too, at the very least they should be Partially private. ( SC and about 5 other states allow anon. winners ) EG per privacy : To be public if must be .. first name only with 1st initial of last name only and def. NOT THE TOWN the winners live in, if the winners don't want it made public. NO photo either if they don't want their photo taken ! I've heard of some people that have won big time and the problems they've had from being made public...long lost DISTANT family members to strangers soliciting for donations for all kinds of stuff. You can imagine what some people will try and do. The couple in Tenn. that won the powerball got a frivolous lawsuit from an EX con ! ( that's scary ) " They" really can come out of the woodwork when $$ is involved to be had. :)

Gosh, there were 2 winners out of W-S just recently in the lucky for life 2nd chance drawings, not bad for that area ! If you google NCEL winners Winston Salem then you can pull up several links showing you winners boards and see where a lot of the winners live ! Also to MakeMoneyJake who asked "How do we know the names of the winners are real living people?" The info. is made public on the NCEL site, complete with photos, names and the towns people reside in. Most folks are NOT HAPPY that info. is made public but that's the way our lawmakers wanted it. There can be quite a lot of problems to the BIG winners when they are made public from consistent beggars to people trying to hit them with frivolous lawsuits, etc.

These drawings are not actually scheduled in advance for a particular time of day, just designated for a particular day so that security and auditors can follow all the procedures. Good luck!

I purchase scratch off tickets biweekly in Winston Salem and to no avail. I'm loosing more than I'm winning. I'm not seeing a lot of winners in my neck of the woods. Please give every neighborhood a chance to win too. I bought 10 /$10 tickets and only $35 back, not even half of my money back.NCEL needs to do better.NC Lottery

The short answer is that the lottery could not operate unless it was awarding prizes to legitimate winners. All of our security practices and financial statements are independently reviewed by auditors on a regular basis. We could, however, try to do more to reach out to Lucke-Rewards winners and ask them to share their stories with us so we can share them with you :-)

some of my friends and I like playing the all or nothing game. we found out that the draw is computer generated. we would like to know why it isn't drawn like all the other games, powerball,cash five, pick 3, megamillions. we suspect that it may be rigged when its computer generated. we don't hardly play now. why can't it be done like the other games. maybe sales would increase. I've talked to several retailers and they all tell me that hardly anyone plays all or nothing.NC Lottery
The results of the All or Nothing drawings are just as random as the results of a drawing using a ball machine. If you and your friends enjoy playing the game, you can be confident knowing the drawings are held with an auditor present according to specific security procedures to ensure fairness to all players :-)

Anytime you have a technical issue, please click on the HELP link at the top of the screen and fill out an ONLINE SUPPORT form so that the support staff can look into your particular circumstance. We can answer questions on the blog but they're the ones that can assist with technical issues. Hope you are able to get it worked out :)

Question. How can every ticket you buy be either a loser or break even ticket? Me and several of my friends play scratchoffs every day buying up to 30 tickets a day. Nothing has been winning in weeks now. NCEL, you just lost loyal players because of your greed. Maybe 1 out of 25 tickets bought might win the price of the ticket back. Pathetic!!!!!NC Lottery
Some lottery tickets win big prizes, but it takes luck to get one. Most tickets don't win prizes, that's why a ticket could win big. We wish you the best :)

hi NCEL...I have scratch tickets that I got from a vending machine, but LZ wont accept them. I assume because the retailor didn't activate them by mistake. if I take the tickets back to the retailor, can they tell me if that's the problem or not? NC Lottery
Jean, the best thing to do is go under the help section of the site and fill out an online support form or call 1-855-767-1863. Someone should be able to help you figure out why you're having a problem with your tickets.

I would just add a reminder to all of us loyal and not so loyal players,yesterday I purchased a few of the scratch off tickets checked them twice and was fixing to toss them in the trash,and thanks to the brilliant mind of someone thinking to place one of those ticket checkers in the store where I was at,I decided to scan them just out of kicks and goggles,much to my surprise,there was a total of $90. Soon to be landfilled,please recheck ur tickets before disposing of them,because after a while they all begin to look the same,Again Thank You NCEL for installing those check Mach.

No one won the big prize in the LFL last night. A player from Massachusetts won 25k a year. 12 players won 5k, one of those was from NC.

Ok, Question I am sure a lot of us wonder about. All those winners that did not claim their prizes and I have seen a lot. What happened to the prizes? Do you plan to have a second drawing one day for everyone that was in it, have another drawing with all the prizes that will cost a FEW points, or just keep it as a bonus?NC Lottery
When the drawings are held, alternates are chosen at random as back-ups in case one or more notified winners don't claim by the deadline. In that case, we notify an alternate and the clock starts again. With regular lottery prizes for draw games and scratch-offs, half of unclaimed prizes go to education, the other half back into games for players to win :)

Sure, having more entries in the drawing is like having more tickets for a Pick 3 or Powerball drawing. The more entries you have, the more chances you have to win. But - importantly - having even just ONE entry gives you a chance to win! :-)

It isn't something we can offer you at this time, but we have heard from many players they would like this feature. So hopefully at some point we'll get to announce that scanning feature :-)

The lottery's communications team is three people, one who is primarily responsible for social media. We work at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. We work regular business hours 8-530 but obviously questions come in at night and on weekends and we do our best to publish and respond :-)

while posting numbers, maybe you can clarify a rumor. On the pick 4 i was told it takes 10 million for a number to "exceed its value". In order words the number is blocked for the next drawing. What is the exceed value for the pick 3 numbers.NC Lottery
The liability limit you cited for Pick 4 is correct. The liability limit for Pick 3 is $5 million - not $5 million in sales, but $5 million in potential prize payout should a given number be drawn.

They are held using a random number generator according to specific security procedures. To ensure fairness to all players, all lottery drawings are done with an auditor present and all the lottery’s security practices are independently reviewed on a regular basis.
