Carolina Black is back on First Tuesday

An icon is making a comeback. Carolina Black is just one of four scratch-off tickets coming to stores on First Tuesday.

The $5 ticket gives players the chance to win five top prizes of $200,000. Just match one of the winning numbers and win the prize shown for that number. If you find a coin symbol, you win the prize instantly. If you get a money symbol you double the prize shown. And finally, if you reveal a money bag, you win $50 instantly. The game has over $20 million in total prizes. Odds of winning a top prize are 1 in 1.2 million. Overall odds of winning including break even prizes are 1 in 4.08.

Then get ready for an adventure with our new Treasure Hunt game. The $3 extended play ticket offers three top prizes of $50,000. Just scratch the “Start” space and follow the instructions as the game sends you to different parts of your map to possibly find some treasure. The game has over $6.7 million in total prizes. Odds of winning a top prize are 1 in 1.16 million. Overall odds of winning including break even prizes are 1 in 4.19.

Things are heating up with our new Cash Inferno ticket. The $2 ticket offers four top prizes of $20,000. All you have to do is match your numbers to any of the “Hot Numbers” and you win the prize shown for that number. The game offers over $6.2 million in total prizes. Odds of winning a top prize are 1 in 1.2 million. Overall odds of winning including break even prizes are 1 in 4.69.

And finally, try your hand playing our new Blackjack game. The $1 ticket offers eight top prizes of $5,000. If the total in any of your hands beats the dealer’s hand, then you win the prize shown. If any of your hands equal 21, you double the prize. The game offers over $4.2 million in total prizes. Odds of winning a top prize are 1 in 900,000. Overall odds of winning including break even prizes are 1 in 4.88.

Your Cash inferno has me heated and I never get this upset about any scratch off ticket. "Overall odds of winning including break even prizes are 1 in 4.69.' This is not even true ! I asked the Vendor for this ticket,he opened a new package..I bought the 1st "12" tickets( 000-011) and I won 2$.Unbelievable !!!NC Lottery
Sorry to hear you did not have better luck on those tickets. There were 4.8 million tickets printed for the whole game. And with the odds you cited, you can imagine it happens often that there are extended strings of non-winning tickets - as well as winning tickets. Sometimes it just takes one to win a prize. So please play for fun knowing it takes luck to win each time you play a ticket.

back when the system would not accept a winning ticket.... I believe it also counted as a mistake entry and you only get 500 mistakes before you get locked out , or 10 in a row and get locked out. ncel correct me if im wrong. sure its a pain to double check all the tickets but I like it the way it is now. more points for winning tickets.

Going back to so on commenting about when you scanned the tickets it used to tell you if it was unclaimed. It changed when the allowed winning tickets to be scanned for points. Now Lucke Zone, you said that she is the only person to request a ticket checker app. That is so false. I remember seeing many comments about that when that change happened and you said you need more people to suggest it..... Better get on it ??NC Lottery
Please re-read our response to the other player. We said she's NOT the only person who has requested this. We understand many people want this feature and it is being developed for a new app.

Yes, it is possible for both draw and instant tickets. However, for winning instant tickets, you should enter it for points BEFORE cashing it in, because it is policy once a winning instant ticket has been paid for the clerk or cashier to deface the ticket and not return it to you.

Same here, I want the feature returned where the system will tell you had a winning ticket. Why would you not want a player to know? We have asked over and over but to no avail.NC Lottery
It was not that we wanted to take away a feature that players liked. It was just a side effect of the change when ALL instant tickets became eligible for Lucke-Rewards points. The ticket entry system was not meant to be a "ticket checker" - but we learned that's how some members were using it. We hope that when you play an instant ticket, you'll enjoy the experience of scratching it to find out if you are a winner or not. But we do plan to offer a new app at some point that gives you the ability to check your tickets. So sit tight! :)

on the two free nascar tickets, I don't get it. Do I have to register at the C. motor speedway to get them to go through or what ? I went there, got the code but could not proceed past that, dunno what to do afer the code and trying to pick out the seats ?! NC Lottery
Want you to get your free tickets so please try again. Take the promo code and then find the seats and then as you go to check-out you will need to use the promo code and register to provide info on how you want to receive your tickets. Hope that helps.

I think it should tell you if is a winning ticket. Before when you entered ticket numbers if it was a winning ticket it would not take those numbers. I had a few like that and am glad the winnings were not lost.

Tried to get my free tickets for truck race and when I hit add to cart screen went dark and wouldn't do anything! What a rip-off!NC Lottery
When we read your comment, we reached out to the folks at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Not sure what the technical issue was on their website but we just e-mailed you to say we'll be glad to mail you your free tickets, just respond to that e-mail :)

Why is it that when I enter my tickets one by one in a drawing I get a number for each ticket in my email but when I put like 10 entries it only send me one number to my emailNC Lottery
This is a question we get from time to time. The number in your e-mail is a confirmation number, like a receipt for the transaction. If you used your points to make 10 entries, don't worry, you got 10 entries! :-)

Andrea, Many (most?) lottery retailer's have a self scanner that makes it simple to check your tickets & even if they don't I have always found the employee's most accommodating when it comes to checking the tickets! Personally I think it's GREAT that LuckeZone now allows us to enter both winning & non-winning tickets! I'd hate to see that feature go away!

What do you mean? Lots of folks have won prizes on tickets they got through a ticket promotion. Any one ticket has just as good a chance of winning a prize as any other! :-D

Having an app in Lucke-zone that will identify if the ticket has an unclaimed prize would be an excellent feature. I unfortunately have also discarded a few tickets that I scanned into lucke-zone and inadvertently tossed without claiming the prize. But it's cool to be able to enter your tickets for a second chance to win. I'm looking forward to seeing my name in the blog one day????!! Good luck everyone!!!

Everyone keeps asking the LZ, when is the next (2nd) drawing for the Ultimate Millions second chance drawing. Since the first one took 5 months and had about 1.5 million entries. I predict the next one will take at least 6-9 months. I'm guessing July-Sept.. And the 3rd one being early summer of 2017.

I want to know why when you enter your tickets for points it no longer tells you that it's an unclaimed winning ticket? Once before I hadn't cashed a winning ticket but didn't realize it until until I scanned it into the website. I want that feature back.NC Lottery
The Lucke-Zone ticket entry system was never meant to be a "ticket checker" - but you're not the only member who has made this suggestion. At some point we hope to be able to offer you an app that serves that purpose :)
