Spring has sprung and, with it, lots of lucky lottery wins to share with you guys this week - including an Alamance County couple who won $4 million.
Tammy and William Wilkinson of Mebane won the $4 million prize playing $200 Million Blowout. Tammy, a waitress, couldn’t believe her good luck when she scratched her ticket. “I ran back into the store waving my ticket,” Tammy said. “I went to the clerk and asked her, ‘Is this what I think it is?’” Sure enough Tammy had a winning ticket and she rushed home to tell her husband William. “I started screaming and blowing the horn as soon as I got to our road,” Tammy said. “I couldn’t believe it,” William, a truck driver for 16 years, said. “I had to go inside and get my glasses, just to make sure.”

A mechanic from Columbus County won the top prize on a $1,000 a Week for Life! scratch-off ticket. Curtis Cruse of the small town of Delco plans to use his winnings to put his daughter through college. “Knowing that she’s taken care of is probably the best part,” Cruse said. He decided to play $1,000 A Week For Life! after a co-worker won a smaller prize playing the game. He never imagined he would win the top prize. “What are the chances?” Cruse said. “I cried, I hollered, and yelled when I found out. I just couldn’t believe it!”
Earnest Thorb of Raleigh is the latest player to win $1 million by playing Millionaire 7’s. He bought his lucky ticket at the Circle K on NC 54 in Durham. That leaves one top prize of $1 million in the game.
Two women from Fayetteville claimed big lottery prizes this week. Carolyn Kirk is North Carolina's second winner of the $25,000 a year for life prize in the new Lucky for Life draw game. Ailla Prince won the top prize of $200,000 on a Gold 7's scratch-off ticket.
A couple from Greensboro also won $200,000 playing Gold 7's. Ki and Crystal Raspberry bought their lucky ticket at the Circle K on Groometown Road in Greensboro.
We already have our first $200,000 top prize winner on the new 10th Anniversary Spectacular game. Deidra Graham of Greensboro has been taking care of her grandmother for the last five years and said she never imagined something like this would ever happen. “I’m still in shock,” Graham said. “I feel like I’m floating, that I’m going to wake up and it won’t be real.” She bought the lucky ticket at the Buy Quick Food Mart on West Cornwallis Road in Durham.
Near the Virginia Border, a Vance County man won $166,466 playing Carolina Cash 5. Alfred Baker of Henderson had the only ticket to match all five white balls in the April 1 drawing. He bought the lucky ticket at the Rose Mart on Vanco Mill Road in his hometown.
