Ticket sold in Iredell County worth $25,000 a year for life

We had another prize of a lifetime won in Thursday's Lucky for Life drawing. A ticket sold at the Food Mart on Salisbury Road in Statesville won the game's second prize of $25,000 a year for life.

The winning numbers in the drawing were 1-6-25-29-44 for the white balls and 8 for the gold Lucky Ball.

It's the sixth time that a ticket in our state has matched all five white balls in a drawing to win the second prize since the game came to North Carolina in February. The other tickets to do that were sold in Cary, Greensboro, Fayetteville, Indian Trail, and Jacksonville.

Saturday is the last day to take advantage of the Lucky for Life free ticket promotion. All you have to do to get a free ticket is make a $4 purchase on a single ticket, and a free Quick Pick will be automatically generated at no cost. Just remember to ask for your free ticket to make sure you get your extra chance to win.

We're looking forward to meeting whoever bought this lucky ticket in Statesville. And wish everyone luck in the next Lucky for Life drawing on Monday night.

Good question. The lottery withholds 25 percent for federal taxes and 5.75 percent for state taxes. The 25 percent does not start until prizes are $5,001 and higher.

Will lucke zone ever use the message center to notify winners for weekly and monthly drawings and /or second chance drawings ?... it maybe easier for some people 2 contact ncel quicker if notified this way .I am just saying it could be a thought to try... and you still could call or send email...NC Lottery

I don't think it is so much as people are anxious to know "who" has won as knowing "someone" has won. I think people understand the winner’s names will only be announced after he or she has responded to their notification and completes the claim process. However, the statement "winner notified to be announced" is no longer visible under the view link.NC Lottery

I've been thinking about the second chance drawing which involved the white hot 5, red hot 5, and hot 5 scratch-offs several years back. Somebody won $5000.00 twice. Did the person have one account or two?NC Lottery
If there was a concern on the lottery's part that a winner was not following the rules, it would have been looked into. If the prizes were awarded then that means the wins were valid.

I was wondering why as i look at other states lottery pages and I noticed that their cash 4 life games have the same numbers as our state does. i thought that our cash 4 life was only for our state, like the cash 5 is without the same numbers being drawn else where in another states. For example, DC cash 4 life have the same exact numbers. I didn't know it was nationwide like the power ball and the mega millions game. I wanted to know if that was explained when we first introduced to the game. Can you explain to me why our numbers are the same in different states.NC Lottery
We don't have Cash 4 Life in North Carolina. We participate in the Lucky for Life multistate game. Our Carolina Cash 5 game is a North Carolina-only game.

Love to see more winners in Hendersonville NC. Play $200 weekly with NO success. Log in daily to web site and review winners. Rarely any this way. If so, just a fraction of what is taken in, probably less than 1% of 1% of 1%.NC Lottery
We've had winners in Hendersonville. But consider that of the 10 million people that live in North Carolina, less than 15,000 live in Hendersonville. It's not any easier or harder to win a prize where you live, there are just millions of people in the rest of North Carolina taking a chance to win, too.
