Meet 4th-generation racer Jeffrey Earnhardt at Charlotte Speedway

Our state has a proud racing heritage. So does Jeffrey Earnhardt.

He is the great-grandson of 1956 NASCAR Sportsman Champion Ralph Earnhardt, grandson of seven-time Sprint Cup Champion Dale Earnhardt – and nephew of 26-time winner Dale Earnhardt Jr., an icon in the sport and beyond.

Now Jeffrey intends to make his mark as a fourth-generation racer from this legendary family. And we're continuing our 10-year tradition of support for racing in our state by partnering with Jeffrey and his team, Go Fas Racing, to sponsor him in the Sprint Showdown and Coca-Cola 600.

If Jeffrey takes the flag in the Showdown, he'll advance to compete in the All-Star Race on Saturday! If you're coming out or tuning in to watch Jeffrey race on Friday, remember to stay for the NCEL 200 Camping World Truck Series Race that will follow at 7 p.m. for more action.

At Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend and next, you have the chance to meet Jeffrey and get his autograph. He'll be at our booth on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and at the same time of day again on Sunday, May 29.

For the entirety of both race weekends, you can find our promotions folks on the midway in front of the Avenue of Flags. Stop by the booth and you can get tickets for your favorite games - including new ones like Carolina Black - and spin the prize wheel to win bonus items like T-shirts and caps.

So stop by and see us. You could get a winning ticket. And if you meet Jeffrey Earnhardt, one day you might be able to say you met a winning driver, too.

I won 25 bucks in the Lucky for Life game, most winnings yet ...not much but better than nothing. I seem to win more with that game than any others, 3 bucks here and there mostly !

Well let's see. I have been playing Cash 5 since the new matrix of numbers has jumped up by two! Still the same, to me! Winning two numbers, and sometimes winning nothing! Go about 3 or sometimes 5 draws before any numbers come up to win something. I guess that's where the increased odds with the same payouts and the only reason the jackpot will grow larger is because it will be harder to win! I know some has to win and some has to lose! That's also where u have to be in it to win it, as the old saying goes! LFL game is the same as any draw games. Still waiting on a BIG win on that game also! What the heck! Got to spend it on something! Can't take it with ya, when the roll is called up yonder!

The blog moderators see your comments, and the decision-makers at the lottery read them too. We know not everyone likes it when changes are made to games. Please understand that jackpot games are driven by big jackpots. After 10 years, it takes a bigger jackpot to get more people excited about the game. We're looking forward to awarding BIG Cash 5 jackpot prizes to winners :)

TI have to agree with Player in Cash 5 u increased the odds with the same payouts and the only reason the jackpot will grow larger did because it will be harder to achieve! Also the new barcode for Cash 5 is not scanning in through mobile phones. All other tickets are scanning and I noticed this since Monday.NC Lottery

why did you add two number to pick 5, too increase your revenue. It did nothing for the player and the amount pay to 3 out of 5 still only paid 5 dollar. So by adding two more number only help the house as they would say in Vegas.NC Lottery
