'Bonus' fun and prizes begin on First Tuesday

Who doesn’t like a bonus? Coming on First Tuesday in July is a new set of five instant games offering $95 million in total prizes. Each brings bonus fun and extra chances to win.

• $1,000,000 Bonus Cash: Besides a chance to win four top prizes of $1 million, the $10 ticket features a back scratch area giving you more ways to win. The game has over $42 million in total prizes. Odds of winning a top prize are 1 in 1.5 million. Overall odds of winning including break even prizes are 1 in 3.53.

• $400,000 Bonus Cash: Match the bonus winning numbers on this $5 ticket and you’ll double your prize. The ticket offers four top prizes of $400,000. This is the highest top prize on a $5 game. It has over $30 million in total prizes. Odds of winning a top prize are 1 in 2.22 million. Overall odds of winning including break even prizes are 1 in 4.07.

• Bonus Crossword: Word lovers can win big by completing the bonus word to earn a bonus prize. The $3 ticket offers four top prizes of $75,000. The game has over $8.5 million in total prizes. Odds of winning a top prize are 1 in 1.08 million. Overall odds of winning including break even prizes are 1 in 4.21.

• $50,000 Bonus Cash: Match the bonus winning number on this $2 ticket and double your prize. The game offers six top prizes of $50,000 and has over $8 million in total prizes. Odds of winning a top prize are 1 in 1.08 million. Overall odds of winning including break even prizes are 1 in 4.68.

• $10,000 Bonus Cash: Reveal a bonus symbol and win $20 instantly. The $1 ticket offers eight top prizes of $10,000, and has over $5.5 million in total prizes. Odds of winning a top prize are 1 in 1.14 million. Overall odds of winning including break even prizes are 1 in 4.75.

The new bonus games will not scan into the system until the 1st Tuesday. That's the way they work every month. You can win on the tickets early but you can't enter until the first Tuesday. The NCEL allows the stores to start selling tickets early because there are so many stores to deliver to, and this was a holiday weekend! Try entering on Tuesday! Happy 4th!

It's a shame NC Lottery does not treat their citizens better with more winning tickets. People are struggling all while being teased and tempted by mostly losing tickets. Come on N.C. you can do much better... clearly there is more than enough to share !NC Lottery

I agree, break even prizes are a complete waste and should be gotten rid of. No one plays to simply get their money handed right back to them. It is a waste of trees.

You can take your ticket to a retailer to have it scanned, or call our customer service folks between 8am and 5:30pm, Monday-Friday, to see if they can talk it through with you to get an idea if you won or not. Good luck! :)

Sure you heard this before. Double the Break Even Prizes and get rid of the Break even prizes. Just my opinion, think people will like winning a little more than just their money back. Most buy another ticket anyway. Just an Idea. Thanks
