Greensboro woman rings up $30,000 Liberty Bills win

Jackie Clanton says that, when she walked into the Quick Buy on South Holden Road in Greensboro, tickets for the new Liberty Bills game were calling her name out. Little did she know that we'd be calling her the game's first $30,000 top prize winner.

With her claim, three top prizes are still in the game.

Clanton claimed her winnings Wednesday at our regional claims center in Greensboro. There, she said she was shocked when she realized she won so much.

Clanton says she'll use her prize money to pay off some bills - and take her grandchildren to the beach.

Does the Lucke Zone staff need a spell check advisor? Who knew that the city of Greensboro dropped the "s" in the middle? Doesn't the NCEL require at least a high school diploma to be considered for employment opportunities? I guess it's just as I thought. The State lottery is a tax on ignorance under the guise of being for the purpose of education.NC Lottery

I play to dream about what I'd do with a jackpot. I don't spend money I don't have. Doing that is sheer lunacy. Play the stock market to save for retirement. Don't rely on a lottery jackpot. If we understand your question, you want to know if any of our six jackpot winners has ever used the feature in the Lucke-Zone that generates numbers at random so that you can buy a ticket using those numbers? No, we have not heard from any of those winners that they chose their numbers that way. The Mega Millions and Powerball drawings are, as you probably know, done using traditional ball machines.

I get tired of reading blogs about people complaining about losing at scratch offs! If a $5 scratch off has a $200,000 jackpot - do you understand how many losing tickets it takes to pay that jackpot? Just play for fun and when its your turn to win it will come your way.

Well, my retailer alerted me today that you are pulling the Multiplier Spectacular $20 card with TWO top prizes of 4 million dollars each let on it! My retailer said he felt sorry for me because he knew how much myself and my friends had invested in the game trying to get one of those last prizes. He couldn’t believe the NCEL was pulling it. What you heard was inaccurate. $4,000,000 Multiplier Spectacular is not ending. The communication mix-up is probably because 100X The Cash (Game #437) will be ending.

LZ,whenever I win on my subscription I get an email notification. Is there any difference in the email a $4 winner receive's vs what a $50k, $1m or jackpot winner would receive. I guess there would be a follow up email & phone call for big winners but i'm asking about the email notification.NC Lottery

Nice! when are we gonna have a pick 3/pick 4 promotion? Instead of having day and night boxes on the play slips, why don't we have multidraws lets say for a month instead of a week. Only saying this would be better.NC Lottery

The question we get most often has to do with winner notification and winner announcements as it relates to Lucke-Rewards and promotional drawings. Winners are typically notified by email within 48 hours. So for a drawing held on a Wednesday, winners can expect a message by 5 p.m. Friday. If a winner does not respond to email notification, we will follow up with a telephone call and, if necessary, send certified mail.
