Tickets split Sunday's $492,374 Cash 5 jackpot

A pair of tickets matched all five numbers in Sunday's Cash 5 drawing to win $246,187 each.

One ticket was sold at the Kangaroo Express on South Tryon Street in Charlotte. The other was sold at the Sunoco on Raeford Road in Fayetteville.

The winning numbers in the drawing were 20-24-27-28-38. All winning ticketholders have 180 days to collect their winnings.

DRAWINGS COMING UP

So the Cash 5 jackpot for Monday's drawing resets to $50,000. But Monday night is also a Lucky for Life drawing night. Someone could win the game's top prize of $1,000 a Day for Life.

Then Tuesday night Mega Millions players could win the game's $25 million jackpot annuity ($17.2 million cash).

And the annuity for Wednesday's Powerball drawing has grown to a $361 million ($250.3 million cash).

Tried to buy a lucky for life in Kernersville, it was at 10:00 pm. The clerk said the drawing was going on and I could not buy a ticket. I then have the clerk my pick 3 ticket and it worked with no problems. Does lucky for life have a earlier cut off time than the other games??NC Lottery

One can only wonder what turbo said about African Americans but what gets me, lottery zone said and i quote, "WE APPRECIATE THE SENTIMENT BEHIND YOUR COMMENT". WOW!! The lottery is a set up for failure. When the lottery came to NC. Every scratch off ticket was worth $500 if not more. Everyone in my town was winning. Now if you win its on $2 or nothing. Think about it.... It was only a way to get you hooked. Then you can't stop playing because, you think your going to hit big again. In reality you wasn't. The lottery is a curse. What part of the state are you in? In Saturday's Powerball drawing the $50,000 and $100,000 tickets were sold in Horse Shoe, about 30 miles south of Asheville and in Gastonia, 30 miles west of Charlotte. And last week we had a $150,000 Wheel for Fortune winner from Morehead City on the coast. It's all luck! :-)

Was picking up Lucky for Life tickets at store today and decided to also get (2) $50,000 Bonus tickets, went out to my car scratched them off to win $2.00 and $4.00 respectively. Drove to another store to cash and clerk asked where did I get the tickets, because these tickets had already been cashed. I told him I know they had not been cashed because I just bought them 10 minutes ago. He told me he only knows the machine says already cashed, can't do anything about it! It's not a lot of money I know but it's not right. Spend a lot of money at both stores, But not anymore!!!!!!NC Lottery

The odds of a ticket winning the jackpot are always the same. When the jackpots get really big, a whole lot more people get tickets and there are more number combinations on tickets that have a chance to win - that means a better chance that somebody, somewhere out there has a ticket that matches the numbers. Winning numbers aren't "released" - they're chosen at random :)

In regards to an earlier post... While I don't believe the "online" (i.e. Cash 5, Mega Millions, Powerball, Pick 3, Pick 4 & Lucky for Life) games are "rigged" I'm not convinced the same can be said for the Lucke*Zone drawings. In looking back at all previous winners locations it is odd that so few reside in the Asheville area considering Asheville is in the top 10 (perhaps even 5?) most populated cities in the entire state! How about a breakdown of the number of Lucke*Zone members for each city? Perhaps that would relieve any doubts that loyal player's (from ALL cities!)might have!NC Lottery
Less than 100,000 of the 10 million people in North Carolina live in Asheville - less than 1% of the state population. A ticket sold there, or a Lucke-Rewards entry made from there, has just as good a chance of winning as one made anyplace else. Last year, 6.8% of lottery sales were in the mountain sales region.

How come I looked at that at 1 am. There were no top winners. Only 40 to 50 winners of 4 out of 5. I looked and thought well I can see how those numbers being so out of place.I saw this for sure!!
