‘Ultimate’ $1 million second-chance drawing nears

Ultimate Millions has already given us two $10 million winners and a dozen winners of $1 million. The game’s next second-chance drawing scheduled for Aug. 10 will make another millionaire.

Besides the $1 million top prize, 10 winners of $5,000 and 25 winners of $500 will be drawn.

More than 1,117,073 entries have been made. To have a chance to win, tickets must be entered by midnight Sunday. Tickets entered after that will be eligible to win in the third and final drawing, the date for which has yet to be determined.

We know there will be lots of questions about the drawing, so here are the answers to some of the most common ones we get.

What you're seeing is the information for the 3rd second-chance drawing. That date hasn't been set. The draw date for the second drawing is still August 10th.

Remember though 8/31 is the deadline 4 the 2nd drawing. After that you will have to click on the draw down tab & click "ALL" instead of active.

Any Ultimate Millions tickets you entered up until Jan. 31 were eligible only for the first second-chance drawing held on Feb. 10. Any tickets entered after Jan. 31 through July 31 will be eligible for the second-chance drawing to be held on Aug. 10. Any tickets entered after July 31 will be eligible for the third and final second-chance drawing. Good luck!

No. You legally bought your ticket in North Carolina which is all that matters. Most of our players live in North Carolina, but we've had plenty of out-of-state winners, too :)

I'm sure it has been asked and answered, before,when some one wins a million and takes the lump sum of 600,000 and then Ends up with 415,000+ does the lst 400,000 go to the Gov and then the other 185,000 go to the state?NC Lottery
No, that's not how it works. When someone claims a $1 million annuity, it is paid out in 20 payments of $50,000 a year. Basically the lottery takes the $600,000 lump sum amount and puts it in an investment account and it generates interest and value, making it possible to pay out the entire $1 million. Or a person can take the $600,000 lump sum and do with it as they please. Either way the prizes are taxed. Does that make sense?
