Twin 'Ultimate' $1 million wins best of the week

Two players came to lottery headquarters this week with $1 million-winning Ultimate Millions tickets.

One of the winners, Jovonte Sellers of Charlotte, said he usually plays $1 games but wanted to try something new. So he bought an Ultimate Millions ticket at the Easy Shop on East W.T. Harris Boulevard in his hometown. That decision turned into a $1 million win.

The other $1 million winner is Moises Rodriguez, a landscaper from Clayton in Johnston County. He bought his winning ticket at the Valero Express Way on N.C. 42 in his hometown.

Big Winners

As many Lucke-Zone players' club members know, we had an Ultimate Millions second-chance drawing this week. There were more than 1.1 million total entries in the drawing. The winners have been notified, and some have claimed. Any Ultimate Millions tickets entered going forward will be good for the game's third and final second-chance drawing. When the entry deadline and date for that drawing are determined we'll share that information with you here.

Four players won $50,000 instantly:

- Lakesha Peters of Fayetteville ($200 Million Blowout)
- Terry Simmons of Marble (5X Bingo Multiplier)
- Jeremy Anderson of Goldsboro (Jumbo Bucks)
- Eugene McAdoo of Greensboro (10X The Cash)

Two won the top prize of $30,000 playing the new $2 Lucky Gems game. The winners are Brandy Barker of Fayetteville and Garrett Martin of Matthews. Four more top prizes are still in the game.

Seven players scratched their way to $10,000 prizes:

- Jordan Tart of Wade (Jumbo Bucks)
- Kelonie Shipp of Mooresville ($1,000,000 Bonus Cash)
- Gary Ogle of Oxford ($400,000 Bonus Cash)
- Regina Williams of Calabash ($250,000 Fortune)
- Daryl Tharrington of Louisburg (Ruby Red 7's)
- Jalpa Patel of Holly Springs (Millionaire Bucks)
- Kamron Sansbury of Wilmington (Millionaire Bucks)

Ten more players won $5,000 apiece, three of them from Fayetteville. The other seven are from: Burnsville, Gastonia, Hollister, Monroe, Robbins, Shannon, and Statesville.

I googled : Tarboro North Carolina lottery and came up with a story that was terrible for 2 folks there ....google ( without the " " marks) " Lottery Dream Shattered for Rocky Mount Couple " Then googled Rocky Mount NC lottery and came up with this : google ( again, without the " " marks) "Rocky Mount trucker wins $10M scratch-off prize" For gosh sakes folks, google IS your friend...seek and you shall find !!

You said have fun playing there's nothing fun about loseing money and never winning anything y'all don't have any money on the 10dollar ticket or 20 dollar ticket I can't even win a dollar on them I should be able to at least get that wow what a scamNC Lottery
It would be nice if every lottery ticket could be a winning ticket. But prize money comes from tickets that don't win prizes. That's why we encourage folks to only play for entertainment, knowing that every time you play you have to beat the odds to be lucky and win a prize, big or small. So when I enter a ticket how are the entry numbers assigned? Sequential as tickets are entered or a random number assigned to them? And when the "randomly generated" number is drawn, is it based on the number of entries or a preset range of numbers? I also saw in a previous post that if the random number generator fails its self test the number is thrown out. How many times are winning numbers thrown out because of errors?NC Lottery

yes it is rigged I went all the way back on the cash games where u put your tickets in or scan them all the way back to 2012 no one I n Tarboro, rocky mount the Edgecombe cities NEVER won the same cities win over and over!!NC Lottery

I'm glad to hear that torn/damaged tickets are acceptable; I will admit to wearing gloves, and retrieving tickets from the trash of stores I buy mine from. I'm on a fixed income, so don't buy the high dollar tickets, but many people cannot be bothered entering the points, and sometimes, not even checking their tickets all that good I've noticed ;)

Good luck sweet pea. Tape it back together and blame the mistake on your spouse or kids. I cashed a $500 winner in that my son torn in 1/2. But that was at a gas station. He was very happy I saw the "7" he overlooked.

I won $1 after spending about $50 in one day. Everything I have touched from NC Lottery has been nothing but disappointment. You have bad tickets in the black community more than you do anywhere else. I can tell by the winners that are posted.NC Lottery

I am curious what the "four practices" are, that are "independently reviewed", to "ensure fairness". It sounds like having your entry drawn is not a sure win, and is dependent on someone's evaluation or conjecture that may or may not, be as fair.NC Lottery
Sorry for the typo. It was supposed to read "all of OUR practices" not "all FOUR practices." All drawings are conducted under the supervision of an auditor according to specific security procedures to ensure fairness to ALL players. One entry you make has just as good a chance of winning as one entry made by anyone else. Good luck!

We've seen suggestions like this. But keep in mind when someone buys a Powerball ticket, they are buying a chance to win a specific prize. While we know some players would like to see the large jackpots deliberately split into smaller jackpots, that would not be fair to players who bought a ticket playing for a chance to win the whole thing. Interest in the jackpot games goes way up with the jackpots get big. If you like games with more chances to win smaller prizes, there are plenty of those! :)

Congrats. However, I do think the question above is fair for two reasons. Their personal information is available, for one. Why should a ticket(s) be so private. Headquarters has readily shared how many tickets other big winners of instant scratch-offs or other games have purchased.NC Lottery
By law, four pieces of information about a lottery win are public: Name, game played, amount won and home town. Anything else is up to the winner to share. If you see in a story about a news release that a winner bought one, three or however many tickets its because they shared that with us when they filled out a questionnaire or were interviewed.

All of our practices are independently reviewed to ensure fairness to all players. We wish every ticket could be a winning ticket. But it's non-winning tickets that make it possible for a $1 ticket to be worth $1,000 or a $10 ticket to be worth $1 million.
