Double prizes coming with ‘Pick 3 Prize Doubler’

The Green Ball is back – and, this time, it’s for double the prizes.

From Oct. 2 through Oct. 29, Pick 3 players have the chance to win double cash every night of the week in the Pick 3 Prize Doubler promotion.

Along with the nightly Pick 3 drawing at 11:22 p.m., we’ll hold the Pick 3 Doubler Drawing. Every player with a valid ticket for that evening’s Pick 3 drawing is eligible for double the normal prize at no additional cost.

The promotion starts with six white balls and one Green Ball loaded into a draw machine. When the Green Ball is drawn, players with winning tickets for the draw win double the normal prize, and all of the balls go back into the draw machine for the next drawing.

If a white ball comes up, the ball is removed, and odds of the Green Ball being drawn improve for the next Prize Doubler Draw. This continues each night until the Green Ball is drawn. It means a Green Ball will be chosen at least once every seven days – and has a chance to be drawn every night!

Regular Pick 3 players know that, depending on the play type, matching all three numbers is normally worth between $40 and $500. If the Green Ball appears, winning combinations are worth between $80 and $1,000. Prizes of $600 or more must be claimed at one of the lottery's six regional claims centers.

I am so ready to win something. I've played since day one. The most I've ever won was $500. I was thankful for that but would like to win more so I can get my bill caught up. Things have been hard since my husband had a stroke back in May. With him not being able to go back to work has thrown us behind in many bills. So, if I could win it will really help us out. GOOD LUCK MABLE!!!!1

NCEL can we keep the green ball permanently. Make it for the pick 3 and 4 both draws. You will see a lot more plays from us loyal players. I normally play more during the day draw. Also can the night draw be pulled earlier?NC Lottery
The Green Ball promotion won't be a permanent feature of the Pick 3 game. But we're glad you enjoy it! And the timing of the drawings won't be able to be changed either. Good luck to you!

It does. If the Green Ball is drawn all winning tickets will be worth double. That includes Exact, Any Order, 1-OFF, etc.

North Carolina players PLEASE take a look at this guys video.- https://youtu.be/jFRgAxpGpj0 -I already posted it the in the comment section of the -000- article but this guy has picked 40 numbers he thinks will come out and 4 of them have already came out STRAIGHT and with this possible prize doubler at night it's worth checking out . Theres no profanity in the video and hes not selling anything.

I do have a question... Say you match exact on an exact ticket ..which is a $500 winner...and the Green ball is drawn ...does that make that same ticket a $1000 winner and if so instead of cashing it out at the retailer you have to go to your nearby NCEL office to cash it and taxes come out of it? Same applies to a 50/50 ticket with double numbers a $330 winner becomes $660? These have to be cashed at the NCEL office? I am a little confused about this... OK I just re-read the article...If this is the case and the winning ticket DOUBLES then wouldn't it be best to play 50/50 to avoid having to go to the NCEL office and pay taxes on it? And a $290 winner becomes $580 and these can be cashed at any retailer? Is this correct? THANKS! NC Lottery

With the new lottery changes, will it let players play pick 3 and pick 4 for more then 7-draws at a time? SC let's you play up two 14-draws one draw and 28-draws both. This is much needed. Thanks NC Lottery
No plans at this time to change the number of multi-draw tickets someone can buy for Pick 3 and Pick 4. Appreciate the feedback and will make sure the interest in this option is shared.

So in a nutshell, It's only 4 the night time drawing. It doesn't cost extra. No extra ticket. You win double only if the green ball comes up & your pic3 numbers match the pic3 numbers drawn that night. NC Lottery
