Just read about Deborah Chandler saying she played numbers from a set of numbers reused from a previous Quick Pick ticket. How lucky can you get! Playing Numbers that have already been drawn from a quick pick ticket. The other two winners was quick pick numbers. I do look at my quick pick tickets and sometimes wonder if i should play some of them numbers or not. But i Wonder if she means her own numbers she had played from some of her other tickets that she plays all the time like i do. I play two sets of numbers every Cash 5 draw! Congrats to you Deborah!

Yes. Hit 4 of 5 on Cash 5.$250 was payout. Pathetic really. Twice in 7 years, since odds of winning jackpot increased, second place should pay @1000 min. No matter how many hit 4. Won't be that many as it's hard odds too. Sad greed NCELNC Lottery

Please give me a response NCEL I wanna hear this. The woman from harmony hit it again , for the 2nd time . Not only did she hit 4 out of 5 but 5 out of 5 in the same drawing . No way she can be that lucky, no way. The system is rigged , don't care what u say.ive been playing cash 5 since it came out and never even hit 4 out of 5.i believe I will quit playing all of it , because never win anything worth talking about . So think I will just start saving that $ and see how much I woulda gave to a rigged system without any return at the end of the year.

Lottery tickets do not know who will buy them. It's luck of the draw. Winston-Salem, by the way, does not fit the description of your comment. You can Google the demographics there compared to the statewide picture. We are happy for winners no matter who they are or what part of the state they're from.

Has anyone won BIG from buying there numbers online? NC Lottery
We've had a $20,000 Powerball winner and a $15,000 Mega Millions winner through subscription purchases. It's not easier or harder to win depending if you buy online or at a store, the odds are always the same. It's just that the number of subscription players is very, very small compared to the vast amount of tickets that are sold in stores. Good luck!

Just read an article of "micro-scratching". This is when crooked people puts a tiny scratch on a scratch off and is able to scan it. The clerk then sells that same ticket to the public. My question, what is the NCEL doing about this?? I will never buy from a clerk again. I will buy from a vending machine.NC Lottery

If a winner does not respond to email notification, we will follow up with a telephone call and, if necessary, send certified mail. We understand why folks are eager to find out who won but, until a prize is claimed, we don’t officially have a winner.

As a jackpot grows, so does the excitement about winning it - and that means more of the possible numbers that could win are being played. That, in turn, increases the chances that more than one ticket will match all the winning numbers. So, the bigger the jackpot gets, the more less of a surprise it is to see the jackpot split among multiple winners. But sometimes luck would have it there is just one perfect ticket :-)

I haven't missed a day of playing the Carolina Cash 5, PowerBall, MegaMillion since May 1, 2010. I play the same numbers day in and day out. I even started playing Lucky for Life when it debuted. I can't even hit 4 numbers and then someone wins the Cash 5 for the second time. Hard not to get discouraged. And, I do agree with what someone earlier said. You match 3 or 4 numbers in the Cash 5 and get next to nothing in return. I'd like to see a little more money put into hitting 3 or 4 numbers. It's obvious not everyone is ever going to hit all 5 so give a little something back to the rest of us who faithfully play.

The best part of the lottery is reading all the blogs, both negative and positive! When I win a $ that is just a bonus! I hope the people that win big handle their winnings smart! I know people that have won substantial amounts and most people that never had money do not know how to handle money. I was able to save one couple who won before they lost it all.Lottery has a gamblers hotline-they also need a financial advice hotline for winners. The amount of taxes collected from their winnings should be able to pay for this service.

If it is not your time you will not "WIN". I purchased $300 worth of tickets from different stores some my numbers others quick picks and guess what I got in return $12 now you tell me it does not take luck. Plus I will add why don't you all reduce the number of scratch tickets so we can "WIN" everytime we get close that games ends and the remaining money goes into a new game that you only "WIN" break even prizes on. Let's get a game that truly have a bunch of $500 and $1000 dollar prizes everyone can't be a Millionaire when you only put 1 or 3 in over 1 billion tickets you print. This should have been the case on the Anniversary ticket instead you all continued to collect...................!

This is EXACTLY how the big lotteries should be done. SPLIT these stupid-huge jackpots and create MORE millionaires than just one mega-millionaire. Eg. if jackpot is 100 million, give 100 people a million. Or 50 people 2 million. It doesn't matter, just stop focusing all the wealth. CREATE MORE WINNERS, not richer single winners.

It's not at all surprising, really -- the bigger the jackpot gets, the more interest there is in the jackpot, and the more possible number combinations are in play. We would have loved to see the jackpot keep rolling. But we're also very happy for the players who will split the jackpot :)
