Rolling again, Cash 5 jackpot tops half a million

For the second time already in the New Year, we've got a Cash 5 jackpot worth more than half a million dollars. Heading into Saturday's drawing, players have the chance to win an estimated $549,000.

Just more than a week ago, the jackpot surpassed $1 million before it was hit and split by three lucky tickets. Winners from Harmony, Pineville and Winston-Salem won $335,141 each.

We'll find out if the jackpot is won or grows even larger. Good luck to Cash 5 players everywhere!

I want to know has anyone ever one playing online using the subscription service? I play online to increase my odds, but never heard of a winner using the online service??? NC Lottery
Thank you for trying our subscription service. Yes. We've had a Cash 5 ticket purchased through subscription to win a jackpot. But you don't increase you odds by buying subscription. It's convenience. However you buy your ticket, retail or subscription, each entry has the chance of winning. Good luck to you, however you play.

I went to a few different retailers this week to buy cash5 tickets. All the stores except one had the web address "nc-educationlottery.org" on the side like always. One store had "NCLottery.com". Why the difference/change? I just checked & noticed the Ultimate tics have the .org and the Extreme tics have the .com address. Did I miss something??? NC Lottery
You are seeing the rollout of our the new URL to the lottery's website. After 10 years, the lottery is upgrading its gaming systems. The improvements are starting to roll out. Hope you like them.

I think there should a time limitation on being notified & either responding or collecting your winnings, esp. the scratch off tix. If you don't claim your winnings, then there are a lot of people that would certainly like it! Set limitations. What happens to the unclaimed winnings??? NC Lottery
For Lucke-Reward wins, a winner has 30 days to claim a prize. The lottery reaches out by email, phone and certified letter. If unclaimed, the prize then goes to an alternate picked in the drawing. For scratch-off tickets, winners have 90 days after the game ends to claim the prize. Under law, half of unclaimed prizes goes to education and half can be used as prizes in other games.
