Welcome to the new NC Lottery

It’s a brand new day with a new look, new location and new approach for the N.C. Education Lottery’s website and mobile app.

Our new website is mobile first. That’s because most of you come to us using your mobile device. Whether you are reading us online or from your phone, you’ll find the website easier to read, navigate and just get done what you want to get done.

And yes, as of today, the app has a built-in ticket checking function. You can scan your own tickets to see if you have a winner.

These are big changes and may take a bit of getting used to. So keep a couple of things in mind.

  • There’s just one website now, not two. The Lucke-Zone has been retired. Your log-in is the same.
  • If you buy draw games on the website, you’ll now do Online Play. It’s no longer called Subscription Services.
  • If you participate in our Lucke-Rewards program, you will still access Lucke-Rewards as a member of the Player’s Club.

Your credentials are still good. We did a nice face-lift on our app. We hope you like it. But we did so much new work on it that we can’t just do an update. You can obtain the new NC Lottery Mobile App from your app store.

Apple users can get their new app now. Just search: NC Lottery Official Mobile App.  If you are an Android user, the new app should be available within 24 hours.

For giving the new app a try, folks who download the new app and sign in for the first time get a one-time bonus of 500 Lucke-Reward points. Enjoy. Good luck with your entries into our weekly or monthly drawings.

On both the website and the app, you can do everything you used to do. It’s just going to be easier and a better overall experience.

We're asking everyone to hold on to their tickets until the issue has been resolved. As far as successfully logging out, please click your username in the upper right hand corner of your dashboard. The select "Sign Out" at the bottom of that menu. If you're not seeing the option to log out, please hit CTRL on your keyboard, as your screen is probably too zoomed in to see the option. Hi Donna, Messages in your message center cannot be deleted. The reason we don't have the option to delete messages is because our goal was to utilize it as a way of record keeping for our players. Please include your username and the email address you use to log into the account. If you have upgraded to an Online Play account, it cannot be deactivated. You can exclude yourself from buying online for a set period of time, or indefinitely, by using the ‘Self-Exclusion’ option under ‘Limits’ in your account settings at https://rewards.nclottery.com/settings/selfexclusion.

Kathy- First, make sure you're a member of our Lucke-Rewards Players Club. You can do that by going to nclottery.com and scrolling down to the bottom of the home page. Once you create an account you can enter your tickets by going to your player dashboard and clicking on the "Collect" icon. This will let you enter the number that's on the back of the ticket to collect points. once you have your points you can then go "Enter" icon and choose which drawing you'd like to enter.

Hi Judy, you can enter tickets manually on our desktop site as well. Just log in to your account and then click the "Collect" icon. There you will enter the tickets for Lucke-Rewards points and you will also be entered into the applicable second-chance drawing for that ticket. You can check on your entries by vising the "Draws" page and clicking on the "Second Chance" tab at the top. Be sure to select "All" from the drop-down menu. There you will find any entries you have in each drawing. Hope this helps!

Hey, David. On your dashboard, click on the Collect icon. That's for collecting points. When you want to use those points to enter a drawing, click on the Enter icon. If you win a Lucke-Rewards or second-chance drawing, you'll get an email about the win. If no response, the lottery will also follow up with a phone call and a certified letter. Good luck.

Blog moderators want to help. Have you tried enabling your location on your device? If you are using the app, you must allow the app to access your location. If you are using a browser, try utilizing the app. Sometimes internet providers state your location is in a different state, or cellular providers state your location as where their headquarters is located. Geolocation is necessary for online purchases as law requires people purchasing NC Lottery games to actually be in the state at the time of purchase. Did enabling location work? If not, please let us know.

I called (they have limited hrs) and was told to contact my Internet provider. I requested a r3fund and the agent said they would check on how that might be done. Right now I am very uose. It appears the state hired a subcontractor to operate this and it's A TOTAL RIP OFF! You cannot simply cancel the account and get your money back. There is no easy way to contact them. Hi there, Sarah. The option to scan a ticket is only available on the lottery's app. On the app, select the "Collect" icon on the top left. Then select the 'scan now' blue button. That will open up your camera. You can only have one bar code in view of the camera because the scanner is very sensitive. We recommend folding the ticket so only one bar code is visible. Hope that helps!

For second-chance drawings, your entries are automatically done when you scan your ticket if it has a second-chance drawing as part of the game. To see your entries, use the Drawings icon. Second-chance drawings give you a second-chance to win a prize on a scratch-off ticket. Some of the games offer second-chance prizes for cash or other prizes. For instance, you can win a Jeep in a second-chance drawing on our Jeep ticket or $1 million in a second-chance drawing with our Extreme Millions ticket. When you enter one of those tickets to get Lucke-Rewards points, you are automatically entered into the second-chance drawings. Good luck.

I like the new design after I took time to learn where everything was. It always takes time to get use to something new but I figured it out. I like the one location for everything in lieu of two sites. I don’t have the app yet so no comment on that. The old website had everything shown briefly when you first pulled up the website. Now you just have to scroll down more. Maybe just making that change may help make it easier to view. Overall not bad.

If you are referring to Message Center messages on your dashboard, you cannot delete them. They are an archive and provide a history for you. Once you see them, and refresh the page, they will no longer be marked as “NEW” but will remain.

This new website is not an improvement. It takes multiple steps backwards. Everything is hard to find and you need to go to multiple pages to see what used to be on one page. For example, if you check your numbers it shows the dates you won but does not show you how much. You have to click on go and it takes you to another page, then you have to go back to check another date.

Ella- If you've downloaded the app, you should be able to see your reward points when you first log in. They'll be added to your points. You can view your points by going to the "Points" icon.

I do not care for this new website AT ALL. Before, when I entered tickets for 2nd chance, I could see my rewards balance immediately. Now I have to go to a different screen. Really? I've downloaded the app and now you have wiped away ALL my second chance entries into Ultimate Millions that's due to draw on the 22nd. Gee thanks for nothing. It was only 30 something entries but c'mon you said my account would be the sa me and it's NOT. Not a fan of the new website or the App. Old website was more visually appealing and more user-friendly for finding what you were looking for. Stop blaming Apple and Google. Yes you have to comply with their policies but if your app developer had followed the rules the app would have been published by now. I've reviewed all of the rules, policies and requirements on the Google Play Store and the Android developer sites and there is nothing to preclude publishing the app unless you violated some rule. There are problems with the app and it was rejected back to the developer to fix the problems. It's up to NCEL to ensure it complies with policy and programming considerations. The average time to publish an app is less than 3 hours for simple apps and 1-3 days for complex apps. Most are published within 24 hours, so fix the app and quit blaming Google.

Hi Alan! Your points should have transferred over. To find your points go ahead and log-in. Your name will appear at the top right hand of the screen. Click on your name and it will pull up your "User Dashboard". Click on the "Points" icon. There you should see the points that you have.

Regina- You're right, that would have been the ideal situation. Unfortunately we are limited by the restrictions Google and Android put in place when it comes to apps. You should see the app for Android soon!

Hello Michael! Good news, we do have the start date for each scratch-off game listed. Just click on the game you're interested in, and look under "Game Information". There you'll see the launch date. I hope this helps!

One thing you will want to check, is to make sure you're logged in. You can put things in your cart when you're not logged in, but you have to be logged in to complete your purchase.

Hello Charlene! You can find a list of winners by going to the "User Dashboard" and click on the "Draw" icon. By default the "My Entries" box will be checked. If you un-check it, you'll be able to see a list of drawings and winners. We know it's going to take some time for everyone to get used to where things are located now, but until then we are happy to answer any questions you have.

Hi Edward! If you could give us some more specifics about what info you can't find, that will help us answer your question. However, to find any of your information you'll want to first make sure you're logged in. Once you do that, you'll want to pull up the "User Dashboard." You do that by clicking on your name that appears in the upper right hand of the screen. The dashboard is where you can find all your information. If you go to the "Points" icon you can see where your points are. If you go to the "Draws" icon, you can see what drawings you've entered. If you go to the "Collect" icon, you can enter your tickets and view a history of your ticket entry. Hopefully this helps clear some things up.

If you are trying to enter a ticket into a second-chance drawing, please go to the Collect icon on your dashboard. Click there and you will be able to enter the ticket. Your ticket is automatically entered into the appropriate second-chance drawing. If you want to see your ticket entry history, click on "View Your Entry History."

If you are an Android user, the NC Lottery Official Mobile App is not available yet on Google Play. We hope it will be soon. Once you download it and sign in, then you would get the 500 bonus points for trying it out.

Mark, we definitely don't like to hear that you're having issues scanning tickets. We are not aware of a widespread problem, however there is one thing you can check. Make sure you only see one barcode in the image finder when you scan your tickets. If you're still having problems you can call 1-855-767-1863 and someone should be able to help you.
