Six prizes of $100,000 to $4 million this week

February 11, 2017 Posted by NC Lottery at 12:00 PM

From the mountains to the coast and North Carolina towns in between, six players won major lottery prizes this week.

The largest belongs to Neil Barnett of Oxford. He bought at $20 Ruby Red 7's ticket at the Kearney Grocery store he owns in Louisburg. After scratching it, he became the game's second winner of $4 million. One top prize of $4 million, two prizes of $1 million and four prizes of $100,000 are still in the game.

A certified nursing assistant from Roxboro won $200,000 playing Mega Fortune. Patrice Sanford bought her lucky ticket at the EZ Food Mart on Ridgeway Avenue in Durham. She said the prize money would be used to buy a first home with her fiance, continue her education pursuits, and help her family.

Sharon Walston is one of the approximately 500 people who live in South Mills, a small town in Camden County. But she won big in the Feb. 4 Cash 5 drawing. The Quick Pick ticket she boughat the Super Stop Tobacco & Mini Mart in Elizabeth City won her the $167,481 jackpot.

Another lucky Cash 5 ticket sold in Elizabeth City added up to a $138,731 jackpot for a resident there. Lyman Sawyer bought his winning ticket at the Eagle Mart on Weeksville Road.

Beverly Royall of Yadkinville is celebrating after she won $150,000 playing the Holiday Riches scratch-off game. She bought the $5 ticket at the 4 Brothers on South State Street in her hometown. Since Royall won the last top prize, the game will end.

David Wright of Asheville came forward to claim the $149,970 Cash 5 jackpot he won in the Sept. 1 drawing. He won playing through subscription services.

Big Winners

Starlyn Robertson of Marion won the top prize of $75,000 on a Lucky 7's Crossword ticket. And Jose Amaya became the first to win the top prize of $50,000 on a $2 ticket for the new 10X The Cash game.

Five players scratched their way to $10,000:

- Analiz Corea of Greensboro ($200 Million Blowout)
- Susan Elliot of Marion ($200 Million Blowout)
- Kenneth Quesinberry of Mount Airy (Carolina Millions)
- Patrick Soper of Jacksonville (Carolina Millions)
- Sudie Wells of Rose Hill ($1,000,000 Bonus Cash)

Tawana Choate of Bunnlevel won the top prize of $7,000 on a $1 ticket for the Lucky 7's game. Ten top prizes are still in the game.

Twenty-two prizes of $5,000 were awarded this week. One was shared by a group of eight players from Wilmington, three went to players from Charlotte, and two were won by players from Mooresville. The other 16 prizes belong to players from: Aydan, Carthage, Cary, Concord, Forest City, Greensboro, Hallsboro, Morganton, Newport, Reidsville, Rocky Mount, Shallotte, Staley, Stokes, Supply, and another player from Wilmington.

Until next time, have a fun and safe weekend.

Thanks LZ, wouldn't you know it! I live about a mile and a half from that store. Purchased tickets from that store also. But not this time! Congrats to the winner! I'll bet it's a person traveling through! It's a truck stop also!

2/18/2017 01:11 - John D.

There was a drawing in Feb with a prize of $200,000. I can not find the results on the winners list under any selection such as ALL, EXPIRED, etc. NC Lottery
The information is there. Scroll to the bottom of the page and adjust the display setting there for the second-chance drawings.

2/18/2017 10:40 - stephen r.

I'm glad that the NCEL has raised over 4.1 billion dollars for education since its conception. But what you're really conveying to the public is that the Lottery has collected 4.1 billion dollars from a lot of, and I mean A LOT of losing customers who basically have purchased worthless tickets ranging from $1 to $30 scratch offs and all of the other money games you offer including me.NC Lottery
The lottery was created so that its earnings would benefit education. Last year players helped us raise $634 million for education. And, last year, players won $1.5 billion in total prizes. We wish you and everyone luck!

ANY Updates for the ETA of the app that allows players to scan their tickets for winners without having to actually standing in line at the scanners in stores???NC Lottery
As soon as we have that information we will announce it, you won't have to ask to find out :-)

2/17/2017 10:33 - terry j.

So if you bought a powerball or mega mil ticket online and if I happen to win how do i sign a ticket that i bought online? NC Lottery
Please check out our FAQ page to learn more about subscriptions. https://www.lucke-zone.com/Help.aspx When you win, you will receive an email notifying you that you have won. For security purposes, we will not state the winning amount in the email. The amount will be displayed in your account in the Message Center. Winnings less than $600 will automatically be placed in your Winnings account. For prizes of $600 or more, you must submit a NCEL Claim Form to the Lottery within 180-days of the drawing.

Player said - the lottery is rigged ,I agree

2/17/2017 06:12 - Roger K.

Hey, do y'all know what store the ticket from Rockingham, NC was won at? Thanks!NC Lottery
The Quik Check at 481 U.S. 1 South. Looks like it's a Citgo Station connected to a Hardee's restaurant. You could buy a lot of Thickburgers with $197,085! :-)

2/17/2017 09:19 - linda p.

the lottery is rigged and so are these 2nd chance games. ive been playong for years o luck e zone 2nd chance and have never won one prize. and i agree with the person above the bigger winning tickets are always sold in other counties like they said above. i have bought given up on playing its no fun anymore

2/16/2017 10:21 - Gregory G.

I hope I am asking in the right section. If I buy an Extreme Millions ticket for 30 bucks and enter my number for the second chance drawing will that ticket be eligible for all 4 of the second chance drawings or just the first drawing?NC Lottery
When you submit an Extreme Millions ticket during a specific entry period for a second-chance drawing, it will be valid only for the one specific second-chance drawing that is designated for that entry period.

2/16/2017 09:54 - jackie w.

I went and looked at all the winners since 2013 on these 2nd chance drawings and I did not see the first winner from Roxboro. Why is this--oh you are going to let me be the first huh, lol. It does look like as long as these games have been going on someone from here would have won something by now. Way too many people in Greensboro, Charlotte, Durham and Raleigh winning. Folks let me be the 1st winner and break a bad streak of luck.NC Lottery
The odds of winning in a Rewards or second-chance drawing are the same for you whether you live in Roxboro or one of the state's larger cities you just mentioned. If you were to move from Roxboro to Charlotte, you would just be moving from a county of 40,000 people to a county of 1 million people. It would not be easier or harder for you to win a prize entering a Rewards or second-chance drawing. We wish you and everyone the best of luck!

2/16/2017 12:47 - Charlene W.

Where are the ultimate second chance winners for Feb at?I was unable to find this .I believe the lottery knows where and what stores they send the winning tickets to,they have to know due to inventory. There are not enough jackpot prizes on the $10 and up scratch offs .NC Lottery
There was no Ultimate Millions second-chance drawing held in February. The first drawing was held on Feb. 10, 2016 and the second drawing was held on Aug. 10, 2016. The third and final drawing for the game has not been scheduled yet. The lottery follows independently-reviewed security practices to ensure that nobody knows where a winning scratch-off ticket will show up until it is scratched off. We wish every ticket could be a winning ticket. But prize money comes from non-winning tickets. We hope your next ticket is a lucky one.

2/15/2017 08:41 - Roger K.

well, finally, a winner from Rockingham,NC on the cash 5! 2-14-17. congrats to you after a two year hiatus from this location. Last winner was April Thompson, winning over 346,000 dollar in May 2014. I have been playing that game every since it was started. The most i have every won on it was 275.00 four numbers right. That was last June 2016. Nothing big since then. Guess it's going to be that long again before it's won here in Richmond County.

2/15/2017 02:45 - Charlene W.

The lottery is not for "fun"as stated from lucky zone for me it's about Winning ,it's no fun to lose money so I take chance on winning and not as a so called hobby NC Lottery
We understand that people play the lottery for a chance to win. But because prize money comes from tickets that don't win prizes, we encourage people to play for fun knowing that it takes luck to beat the odds to win a prize big or small. We wish everyone luck.

2/15/2017 12:43 - derek e.

Why do some retailers allow people to buy instant tickets and after they scratch a couple winners, they let them return unscratched ones to sell to the next person. This literally just happened to me and has happened before. I can tell because I bought 3 tickets and the ticket numbers were 012, 014, and 015. This is unethical and wrongNC Lottery
Please call our security team at 877-962-7529 to share this information.

2/15/2017 10:42 - bradley s.

Blah blah. When u finally arrest someone for fraud, then We might believe (maybe) this crud is enforced Same old response; we have tight security measures and if u don't like it,quit playing. Nice NC Lottery
The lottery doesn't have the authority to arrest anyone. But it can and has suspended retailers and terminated contracts. The lottery's security team does use detective strategies to identify potential fraud, and uses investigative strategies to look into suspicious activity, complaints or criminal conduct. And, when appropriate, lottery security provides information to or coordinates its efforts with local law enforcement. The security practices of the N.C. Education Lottery are as strong as any in the U.S. lottery industry. If you ever have a specific concern about something you see at a retailer, please contact the lottery's security team. Last, you are welcome to express your opinion and give feedback but please avoid using vulgar language.

2/15/2017 07:02 - NC Lottery

@ NOTSOLOLBIT - The lottery industry has made adjustments to its instant ticket printing process that have reduced concerns about the ability of an individual to commit the kind of fraud Beansantaters described. But also keep in mind that more than 80 percent of all lottery retailers in North Carolina report having a “No Play on Duty” policy for employees, including 99 percent of corporate retailers such as grocery and convenience store chains. You are welcome to ask a store what its policy is before you play the lottery there. But of course we encourage players to contact our customer service or security team if they experience or see something that concerns them at a particular store.

2/15/2017 07:01 - NC Lottery

@ NOTSOLILBIT - If playing the lottery is not fun for you, it might be better to take a break. Games of chance can be fun but there is never a guarantee of winning, only a chance to win. We talk with folks all the time about playing responsibly, knowing it takes luck to beat the odds to win a prize, big or small: http://bit.ly/2kJgvQi

Who won the second chance drawing for ($2000,000) Holiday drawing?NC Lottery
So far, two of the $500 winners and four of the $5,000 winners have completed the claim process. All of the other winners, including the $200,000 winner, have been notified. Their names will be announced after they claim. You can see the results for yourself by going to the LUCKE-REWARDS > WINNERS page, scrolling to the bottom where the second-chance drawings are listed, and clicking on the pull-down menu to adjust the display setting from the default "ACTIVE" to "ALL" and then scroll down to the Holiday Second Chance drawing to click "VIEW" and see the status of winner claims.

well I just bought my LAST extreme millions ticket, it is a shame I have spent so much of what my brother left me. He loved playing the lottery too but he also spent way too much. I have done better on the $2 and $5 tickets but now I am slacking off of them. Thanks to beansantaters for explaining what pinning is, so now I will see if any tickets I get may have a mark on them and I do agree with Greg. This lottery is definitely getting NOT WORTH IT.NC Lottery

On 2/13/2017 10:56, CW said Turbo said -newbie join the club?!Well obviously Turbo you spend more money than me and have been playing longer ,so the fact you've never won should tell YOU something ******Wow, CW I was trying to make Charlene feel not so bad. I don't know why you mistook my comment as being aimed at you. And who says I've never won. FYI, I have won in the past, just not this week. It's all good dude or dudette.

2/14/2017 01:42 - NC Lottery

@ BIGWIN - As you know, every ticket gives you a range of points that you can then use to decide what Lucke-Rewards drawings you want to enter. Those are completely separate from any game-specific second-chance drawings, such as those for Extreme Millions or X The Cash. When you submit an eligible ticket for a second-chance drawing, you will automatically get Rewards Points and automatically receive one entry into whatever drawings are associated with that game. The drawings are conducted using a random number generator, according to specific security procedures.

2/14/2017 01:10 - NC Lottery

@ PLAYER (NC707) Thanks for asking, these are questions we get regularly. Nobody at the vendor or the lottery knows where winning scratch-off tickets will show up. Unless an instant game is reordered, all the tickets are printed at once. There are millions of tickets for every instant game and it is impossible for them to be distributed all at once. Packs of tickets are distributed as stores sell through packs of tickets and order more. The odds of winning a prize on an instant ticket are advertised as being accurate at the time of printing. The odds change every moment someone buys an instant ticket and prizes are won. The number of prizes remaining for every game is updated daily on the lottery's website. Everyone has the same chance of winning a prize, big or small, on an instant ticket.

2/14/2017 12:03 - RONALD C.

Once again in effort to educate us on how the lottery operates. Who determines how scratch off tickets are distributed? Does the vendor and the Lottery know when the big scratch winners are distributed and does the vendor and/or lottery have a say when they are distributed and where they are distributed? Are all tickets printed at one time and distributed at one time, if not then the odds of winning are misrepresented. Please answer these questions in the public forum so we are educated about how this is done. Thank youNC Lottery
@ PLAYER (NC707) Please see our full response below.

2/14/2017 11:41 - Haley B.

Has the winners for the holiday second chance drawing been posted? NC Lottery
The question we get most often has to do with winner notification and winner announcements as it relates to Lucke-Rewards and promotional drawings. Winners are typically notified by email within 48 hours. So for a drawing held on a Wednesday, winners can expect a message by 5 p.m. Friday. If a winner does not respond to email notification, we will follow up with a telephone call and, if necessary, send certified mail. We announce a winner’s name only after he or she has responded to notification and completes the claim process.

2/14/2017 11:05 - mark g.

I'll tell you what NC suck up all the cash ,thats why we have the least big&small winners across the lottary board here in the state crying shame is what it is!NC Lottery
Lottery players in North Carolina won the most they ever have in a single year last yaer, a total of more than $1.5 billion in prizes.

2/14/2017 04:14 - jody w.

I don't like the fact that store owners can purchase tickets at their business. I think it offers some advantage over others. I see on the winners list certain names that appear over and over each week! NC Lottery
When someone with a retail association presents a ticket to claim a significant lottery prize, it is subject to an additional security review. The lottery only awards prizes when it has no evidence that something improper has occurred. We always encourage players to contact our customer service or security team if they experience or see something that concerns them at a particular store. More than 80 percent of all lottery retailers in North Carolina report having a “No Play on Duty” policy for employees, including 99 percent of corporate retailers such as grocery and convenience store chains. You are welcome to ask a store what its policy is before you play the lottery there.

2/14/2017 01:29 - Clif S.

I truly believe that the payoff structure for those you have only the Powerball, Megaball or Luckyball only should win at least 5 dollars because anything less than 5 dollars does not give you any incentive but to spend more but to spend only the minimum on these games for the average player plus on the Powerball you win the same if you have PB or 1 + PB and the same if you have 3 OR 3 + PB and the same for Mega Million you win the same if you have 2 + MB or 3. The cash five has been better payoff structure by far

2/13/2017 11:53 - Sybil N.

What are the odds that Mr Patel won in both the Count Your Blessings AND December $ second chance drawings. I've read how many entries were submitted for each and yet one man won in both drawings. That is remarkable to say the very least

2/13/2017 10:56 - Charlene W.

Turbo said -newbie join the club?!Well obviously Turbo you spend more money than me and have been playing longer ,so the fact you've never won should tell YOU something NC Lottery
Guys, not taking sides here. Some good-natured back and forth is OK. But please let's not get too personal. We're all here for the same reason... we want to exchange information about the lottery. We don't censor opinions but we will have to delete comments that are rude toward other individuals.

2/13/2017 10:10 - Anthony B.

It was great to see you answer Greg's question on 2/11 about his power ball entries for the cruise promotion. Here is my question for the "second" time on how entries are determined on "second chance scratch offs". I bought a variety of 10 tickets total( $2 $5, $10, $20 and $30). I got 500 points and entered the "quick cash drawing". I used all 500 points at 10 points each. If I bought 10 different tickets, how many entries do I get and how is each entry identified and chosen?NC Lottery
Please see our full response below.

2/13/2017 09:32 - JIM B.

Not one to make any accusations-but one of the oldest scratch off scams is known as pinning. Simply take a razor blade or even a stick pin and make a small scratch at the bottom and scan the bar code.Got a winner? Cash it out-got a loser? feel free to sell it to the next unsuspecting customer! Easy as that. Ah yes-when gambling involves man and money, crookedness abounds!NC Lottery
The lottery industry has made adjustments to its instant ticket printing process that have reduced concerns about the ability of an individual to commit this kind of fraud. Our security staff does have a detective and investigative program to try to identify retailers who may not be following the rules. And we encourage anyone who experiences or sees something that concerns them at a particular retailer to report it to our security team.

Y'all are funny. I live in CHARLOTTE and spend a lot on the NCEL, and the most I ever won was $500 on a $2 dollar scratch off. So where is my big win? I think Fayetteville,Greensboro, and Raleigh wins all the time.

2/13/2017 07:26 - Mark H.

When I look at other states lottery websites, I am surprised at the lack of information provided to their respective residents. With this being said, I would like to thank the people who operate the lottery in our state, and appreciate ll you do. I also see some negative comments which I do not understand. It is all a game of chance and should be approached in this manner. I am one who has won sometimes, not enough to make a difference with $100.00 being my biggest win (twice). But I approach it as a game of chance, and not a guaranteed win. Everyone has their own opinion, and that's fine as I also have mine. But when you look at other nearby states lottery websites, I am thankful for the information which you all provide. Keep up the great work. NC Lottery
Thank you for the kind words. :)

Are there really Rewards winners? I have been submitting numbers for 4 years and never even get a free drawing. I smell a rat. Or maybe I'm just incredibly unluckyNC Lottery
Sure, every week and every month. There were 1.1 million entries in the January Jackpot drawing, and there were 353,482 entries for this week's 10X Quick Cash! drawing. If you have even one entry, you've got a chance to win. Good luck!

2/13/2017 05:16 - greg s.

It is not inside info. when an owner wins on scratch off. When I buy 5 consecutive 20$ tickets and are all losers and then I go to buy the next consecutive ticket and it is not the next consecutive ticket and no other customer has bought any that only leaves the clerk or owner has bought it knowing the odds of that ticket being a winner. That is not insider info. that is criminalNC Lottery
When a person buys an instant scratch-off ticket, it is up to that player whether or not he or she tells anyone else that they have won a prize. Also, more than 80 percent of all lottery retailers in North Carolina report having a “No Play on Duty” policy for employees, including 99 percent of corporate retailers such as grocery and convenience store chains. You are welcome to ask a store what its policy is before you play the lottery there. On 2/13/2017 01:13, Charlene said I entered over 30 entries for the Jan jackpot and did not win.******Well Charlene, with your 30 & my 258, that's 288 entries from over 1.1 million entries from over 700 thousand member's entries that DID NOT win. Join the club newbie. Maybe we'll have better luck next month.

2/13/2017 04:08 - bradley s.

It's BS for an OWNER OF A STORE to buy own tickets. NOT First time BIG WINNER (4mil) has happened. Don't reply with they make own rules, tired of hearing lame response. It's obvious inside info. Been done with ur scam mess for awhile. Don't bother , people are mostly fed up. Corruption

@ PEBBBLES - The lottery is a sales organization. After paying out prizes to winners, commissions to retailers, and the cost of operating the lottery, our profits go to the state to benefit education. The citizens of North Carolina expect us to run a lean organization to maximize the benefits to the state, in terms of prizes and earnings for education. Just like in Georgia or Virginia, our claims centers are placed at locations that will be convenient for the maximum number of people. We love having winners from places big and small, and we have them from both all the time.

2/13/2017 03:39 - NC Lottery

@ PEBBLES - Your question is one of the most common questions we get and we appreciate the opportunity to share some information that might be helpful. It is not easier to win the lottery in Charlotte or Raleigh. There are just more people living there taking a chance to win. We hear from players in cities who say it seems like only players from small towns win. Over time, the odds of winning ensure that every part of the state wins its fair share of prizes. Living in a big city doesn't make it easier to win a lottery prize. You just live around more people :-)

2/13/2017 02:55 - sheleen j.

Sure wish I could win just a little bit. As stated, alit of the wins are in bigger cities and around the coast andof mountains. Hardly ever anything in the areas on the western part of nc. I have been entering drawings for second chances for years have not won anything, not even a t-shirt. Yes I er ll scan tickets it not enter drawings until the next few months. I think that's fair to give others the opportunity instead of same people winning all the prizes? Why is it thatthat those who are close to the offices get all the winnings or why isn't there a local office for every few towns so everyone doesn't have to drive far away NC Lottery
Please see our full response below. Keep in mind there are hundreds of thousands and sometimes millions of entries into the Rewards or game-specific second-chance drawings. But if you've got one entry in, you've got a chance to win.

2/13/2017 01:13 - Charlene W.

I entered over 30 entries for the Jan jackpot and did not win ,It does not matter what game you play it's called a miracle not luck .And I believe the lotto rules need to change to where owners and employees are not allowed to purchase tics at that lication .This is unfair, wrong and I feel very shady .NC Lottery
We wish everyone who entered the Rewards drawings could win a prize. There were more than 1.1 million total entries in the January Jackpot drawing. Anyone who has even one entry in a drawing has a chance to win. More than 80 percent of all lottery retailers in North Carolina report having a “No Play on Duty” policy for employees, including 99 percent of corporate retailers such as grocery and convenience store chains. You are welcome to ask a store what their policy is before you play the lottery there.

After running across a article by the reputable Charlotte Observer, I'm done with the lottery. It's amazing how numerous people are winning top prizes multiple times...that defies logic being that the odds of winning top prizes are so low. It's time that we (me included) quit looking for a miracle to get ahead and do it by grind and hard work. If you sit back and look at the amount of money put in the lottery, for some people you'll be amazed. The money put in the lottery can be more money attributed to your 401k or savings account. After studying the location of winners over the last 12 months Noticed that 50 percent of winners live in or within a 25 radius of Charlotte and Raleigh/Durham and Greensboro areas while in the southeast North Carolina from Richmond County to Brunswick Country is last in the number of winners during that time periodNC Lottery
Not sure what data or information you're working with, or how you arrived at those figures. Over time every part of the state wins its fair share given how many people are taking a chance to win. If you moved to Charlotte, Raleigh/Durham or Greensboro you would just live around more people. It wouldn't be easier to win the lottery :-)

Every time I buy a $10,$20 or $30 ticket I win zero ,but I can win $100 on a $5 scratch off.I find it ridiculous on $10 and up tics that you can't even win at least your money back. Its never enough winnings when it's spread put all over NC,be nice if it was made where every county would be automatic winning on them .NC Lottery
North Carolina has 100 counties, but the counties are not all the same. There are more than 1 million people in Mecklenburg County and Wake counties. But there are 1 million people total in a 25 county block in Northeastern North Carolina. And 1 million people total in a 21 county block in the Mountains. It's not easier or harder to win the lottery depending on where you live. There are just more people taking a chance to win in some places. Over time, every part of the state wins its fair share :)

Another (STORE OWNER) winning biggest prize. This is wrong. Happens WAY TOO OFTEN. Easy to see this should not be allowed too fishy. 4 Million on a top prize, AKA inside info. Quit scratchers people, it's a losing deal.

Who makes the lottery play slips? I found some at a store in Fayetteville when playing the cash 5 and it only went from 1-39 and it suppose to be 1-41. I alerted the store clerk. I should get a bonus for that...LolNC Lottery
The lottery provides play slips to retailers. The Cash 5 game was updated in May of last year. At that time, all old play slips were supposed to be discarded. It sounds like some old ones were at that store. Thanks for alerting the clerk.

Just curious..If 4 million tickets were printed for a scratch off and there are four top prizes, are they randomly placed in complete run?,or for example would they place one top prize in each million printed..Thanks4.NC Lottery
The lottery partners with vendors that use state-of-the-art software and printing systems to create millions of tickets for instant games. Games are designed using randomization that ensures there is no predictable pattern for where winning tickets will appear. The way games are designed according to industry standards make it such that, at the time of printing, all packs of tickets have the same chance of having big-winning prizes.

I've noticed that no one ever wins in Goldsboro. Is there a reason for that, or is it just an unlucky area? I've not been keeping up with this site since I joined a while back..last summer. Is there something I might have missed that I need to know. I don't really understand the 2nd chance rule. Could I get a better explanation? I will continue to play though, because its fun. I'm going to replay my tickets today for PB and Cash 5. Thanks!NC Lottery
We've had lots of winners from Goldsboro and the surrounding areas. Here's a link to some information on Google: http://bit.ly/2lGTFZr --- http://bit.ly/2lBk7rz --- Here is a link to more info about Lucke-Rewards and second-chance drawings: http://bit.ly/2exhjp9 --- If you have customer service questions, please call 877-962-7529. GOOD LUCK! :-)

Who won the Holiday second chance drawing? Amd other Feb 8th drawings?
We understand why folks are eager to find out who won but, until a prize is claimed, we don’t officially have a winner.

A way to go winners, O by the way I thought if you was a store owner you could not by Lottery in your own store. What's up with that NORTH CAROLINA EDUCATION LOTTERY.NC Lottery
Thanks for the question. Many stores, especially corporate chains, have their own rules about that. But it is not a state law or regulation.

Notice how all the big wins are from cities really close to wake county all but 2 which are Asheville and Elizabeth City, where big winners always come from.Pretty obvious as to what's going on.NCEL u don't think ppl dnt see this.u really need to even it out state wide.i mean it's the same cities and counties always hitting the big prizes. If u dnt live in those areas , might as well just forget about it.just wasting your $$$$$$$.This states lottery is quite obviously rigged. But I would like to hear yet another one of your responses to try and justify your rigged system, thanks.NC Lottery
There were 36 wins of $5,000 to $4 million to winners from 31 different places across the state this week. As you can see on the map, they're spread out in every region, places big and small. North, south, east, and west. We're happy for all the winners and hope you have good luck too.

I believe more people would play the lottery if they had the choice of remaining anonymous on big ticket wins. Some people like the publicity but many others don't.

2/11/2017 02:42 - greg s.

I submitted a 15$ pb and got 7 entries for the cruise! I submitted 6 of them and got 7 entries each time. Why does lucky zone say you need to get 3$ tickets !? My question is why did my entries go on 6 different drawing dates instead of next drawing?NC Lottery
For clarity: If you buy a physical ticket at a store in a transaction of $3 or more, and enter it here during the promotion entry period, you will get one entry into all the upcoming drawings. If you want five entries on a $15 worth or Powerball tickets, you need to buy five $3 tickets. If you play through subscription services, you will get one entry for every $3 purchased, regardless of whether you buy $3 at a time or more. The subscription system tracks each play as a $3 transaction. If you have more questions, please call customer service between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, at 877-962-7529

Love a good looking map even if you missed my little town here in the middle south of the state. Wondering a few weeks ago I asked about the top ten retailers in the state. Thinking you were busy, can I get it now?NC Lottery
Believe our response was that it would take research to provide that to you. Would you please email playerinfo@lotterync.net with your request so that it can be routed to the right place and someone can get back with you by email.
