$1 million win in Rockingham County tops this week

If you've been reading the weekly winner blog for any amount of time, you've seen that we have winners, big and small, from places big and small. Over time, every part of the state wins its fair share of prizes given how many folks are taking a chance to win there.

This week the biggest prize went to residents in Rockingham County, in the town of Madison, where about 2,000 people live. Allyson Ingram and Dyrick Morgan bought a $10 ticket for the $1,000,000 Bonus Cash game at the Daytona Citgo on North Highway Street in their hometown and won the top prize. That leaves one top prize in the game.

A Cleveland County woman celebrated her $150,000 win in a unique way. Tina Rahming of Shelby bought a $500 Cash ticket at Super Dave's Quick Stop on Earl Road in her hometown. After scratching off the top prize - with her lucky ticket tucked inside her show - she went to the restaurant where her fiancé works. "She started dancing," he said. "Did the two-step right in the store!" What kind of dance would you do if you won $150,000?

- Maxine Utley of Rockingham ("$" Game)
- Oscar Wilson of Raleigh (Carolina Millions)

Two players from Winston-Salem won $5,000. And 13 more players won $5,000. They are from: Charlotte, Fayetteville, Franklinton, Greensboro, King, Knightdale, Morganton, Morrisville, Mount Airy, Ocean Isle Beach, Pittsboro, Rockingham, and Wendell.

Folks, look at the map! No prizes in Western North Carolina, just like every weeks' blog graphic and your monthly drawing contests are even worse. Going back years on your winner's page there has not been a single monthly drawing winner in Cherokee, Clay, Macon, Graham, Swain, Transylvania, or Jackson counties. NC Lottery
Of the more than 10 million People who live in North Carolina, about 172,000 live in the seven counties you listed, combined for about 1.7% of the state's total population. The lottery is also less popular in the Mountain region than it is in the Piedmont or Coastal region. It is easier or harder to win a lottery prize on a ticket or in a drawing depending on where you live. Over time, every part of the state gets its fair share of winners for how many folks are taking a chance to win.

ok you cheat, I bought 8 $3 bingo boxes today got home and scratched them off won a little. I wrote down a the numbers off tickets so I could log them in tonight, well when I went to log them in it said another player had submitted this ticket. This is so funny I can't stop laughing cause he or she did not get the winning tickets numbers. Thought husband had logged them in but he said no, oh well I hope you do not win and next time I will spit in the trash for you, play fair. Not really but do feel like it.

Wow, that's strange. I got a $6 (PB) paper ticket at store & only got 1 entry into the power cruise contest. I just got a $6 multi draw ticket online & got 2 entries. Why the discrepancy ???? NC Lottery
The lottery is glad that those who buy their $3 Power Play tickets through subscription can participate in Powerball Power Cruise promotion. Each $3 purchase gets the subscription buyer an entry. With tickets purchased at a retail location, the web code on the ticket provides the entry when it is entered into Lucke-Rewards. So those who buy tickets at the store, need to buy each $3 ticket separately to get an entry into the promotion drawing.

Well, I looks like one PB ticket gets you only ONE entry into contest NO matter how much you spend. My $3 tic got 1 entry into all 6 drawings & so did my $6 tic. So 1 pay slip for $15 will only you get you "ONE" entry. A very inexpensive lesson for me , but I had to find out for myself. So an expensive multi draw ticket might only get you one entry. I don't want to find out the hard way. But I might experiment a little just for shitz & giggles.

The question we get most often has to do with winner notification and winner announcements as it relates to Lucke-Rewards and promotional drawings. Winners are typically notified by email within 48 hours. So for a drawing held on a Wednesday, winners can expect a message by 5 p.m. Friday. If a winner does not respond to email notification, we will follow up with a telephone call and, if necessary, send certified mail.

I play the lottery everyday and I want to continue to trust that the games are honest. I had over one thousand entries in the Holiday second chance (Lucke_zone) and all of my entries seem to be deleted from my page. Can't find your entries, still frustrated? Calm down & try this. Don't click on the tab at the TOP of the winners page that says "active" ! Scroll to the bottom 1/2 of the page that says second chance drawings. Then change "active" to all or my entries!! The top 1/2 is for luck e rewards points activated contests. Second chance drawings a for game specific tickets and drawings. There is a BIG dif.. Now don't you feel silly. Click and scroll baby, just click and scroll......... Life is too short to get upset.

I bought a $3 PB with PP and a $6 PB with PP just to see if when entered Sunday I Get 1 entry for each or 1 & 2 accordingly. I don't remember reading any where if there is a dif.. I would hate to spend $15 on a ticket thinking I was gonna get 5 entries and only got 1. Can ya feel me? NC Lottery
There's only one web code on each ticket. So you only get one entry for each ticket. If you want five entries for the Power Cruise drawings, you'll need to buy each $3 Power Play ticket separately at the store. Then you will have five web codes to enter and you'll get five entries. Hope that clarifies it for you, Turbo.
