The biggest and best winner story of the week belongs to Irene Tillman. For over 10 years she has been the mail carrier for Route 24 in Chatham County. Turns out the number "24" was the lucky number on an Ultimate Millions ticket that won her a $1 million prize. She bought the lucky ticket at the Shalom Gas and Cash Mart on N.C. 42 in her home town of Goldston.
It was lucky birthday numbers playing Cash 5 that led to an early birthday present for an pea farmer on the coast. Allen Liverman of Elizabeth City said he would celebrate his 80th birthday with a $462,161 Cash 5 jackpot. He bought the $1 ticket at the Zoom In on West Main Street in his home town.
Another Cash 5 jackpot winner collected his winnings this week. Russel Robbins of Goldsboro had good luck in the March 11 drawing, winning the $171,201 jackpot. He bought his $1 Quick Pick at the Murphy Express on N.C. 581 in his home town.

A group of eight players won $50,000 in the Jan. 21 Powerball drawing. Five of them are from Virginia, one is from Florida, another is from Washington D.C., and the eighth lives in North Carolina. The winning ticket was purchased at the Kangaroo Express on North Harrison Avenue in Cary.
Fannie Jones of Battleboro became the fifth player to win the op prize of $40,000 on a $2 Double Match ticket, leaving one top prize still in the game.
Vaden Little of Greensboro Megaplied his way to $25,000 in the March 10 Mega Millions drawing.
Two players won $20,000. Sarah Bailey got the prize playing Celebrate 2017 - two top prizes are still in the $2 game. And Joshua Jones of Trenton scratched off his winnings on an Ultimate Millions ticket.

Lester Brennan of Elizabethtown won the top prize of $7,000 in the $1 Lucky 7's game #394 that started in January of 2014. Seven of that game's top prizes remain to be claimed. A new Lucky 7's game #540 started this month. All 15 of its top prizes are still in the game.
Twenty wins of $5,000 were awarded. One of them went to a group of friends, four of whom are from New Bern with the fifth from Morehead City. Two more of the prizes went to players from Concord and two more went to players from Mount Airy. The other 15 were won by players from: Andrews, Angier, Chapel Hill, Charlotte, Goldsboro, Hurdle Mills, Jacksonville, Lillington, Madison, Nebo, Roseboro, Taylorsville, Wilmington, Wilson, and Winston-Salem.
