Another week of good luck for players across the state

This week we gave away our first $200,000 20X The Cash top prize. Rafael Cadavid of Cary bought the winning ticket at the Circle K on North Harrison Avenue in Cary.

“I had won $10 on another ticket,” said Cadavid, who does IT for an insurance company. “So I decided to exchange the ticket for two 20X The Cash tickets.”

Cadavid plans to use the money to make repairs around his house.

James Forhan of Jacksonville won $200,000 playing Mega Fortune. He bought his winning scratch-off ticket at the Circle K on Lejeune Boulevard in Jacksonville. He plans to use some of the money to pay bills.

And Danny Marshall of Raleigh is the first player to claim one of two winning tickets for a $326,084 Cash 5 jackpot. He bought his ticket for Monday’s drawing at the Mira Mart on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh. He split the jackpot and received $163,042.

The second winning Cash 5 ticket was sold at the Salem Express on Salem Road in Morganton.

Five players won $30,000 to $75,000:

One of the questions asked earlier was... “When X the cash drawing is going to announce the winners?” You replied “Winners are typically notified by email 48 hours after the draw.” My question is...Is it possible for you to also notify a winner in the Message Center of the Lucke-Zone? No. At this time winners are notified by email and then if we don't hear back we'll call or even send certified mail :)

Great question! One many players have asked. Tickets for draw games are worth between 1 and 5 times the ticket price and tickets for instant games are worth between 1 and 10 times the ticket price - it's a matter of luck if you get more! :-)

To all you playing scratchers; Have you really LOOKED at the odds on these silly things?? VERY few big prizes, odds are 1/millions on most. I've seen people buy rolls of these at diff times and never get close to break even. It's a fools dream NC Lottery

People-you think all the winners are in Raleigh ?There are a lot but same winners same areas,plain fact!!!! I have won about $50.00 in 11 years a dollar at the time.I think its time for some new people in the lottery.Auditors I do not trust. We thought we had answered the question in that there is a glitch in our system that is showing incorrect or incomplete information on our winners board :) We are working on fixing the issue right now. Most of the problems have been fixed, and we hope to have it completely fixed by today. Wild 8's was one of the first games the lottery ever sold. The $1 game was launched on 6/27/06 and ended July 27, 2007. It is not a current NCEL game. Again, the information on the winners board highlighting a win with Wild 8's is incorrect. Revise my previous post, beginning Mar 27th not the 24th. I'm sure many players look for their favorite retailer/city to see if they are on a hot streak and patronize them in hopes of winning. Do the retailers know NCEL negated any advertising potential and notoriety for stores that could use that info? Was the Retailers Advisory Board notified of the change? LZ I know you don't have the answers, just putting out questions to seemingly knee jerk actions/reactions. NC Lottery

There have been plenty of winners in your neck of the woods. In fact, we just had a $50,000 Powerball ticket that was sold in Wilkesboro. The lucky ticket was purchased at Murphy Express on US Hwy 421.

Why so many winners in Raleigh/Cary area in area in comparison to the rest of the state? Is it just more stores or players in that area? NC Lottery
It's not easier to win the lottery in a big place than a small one. There are just more people taking a chance to win there. The lottery can only work if everyone has the same chance to win, and no matter where you live you have the same chance to beat the odds as someone anyplace else.

Lucke-Rewards and second-chance drawings are scheduled for certain days and are held when drawing security and audit staff are available to follow specific, rigorous procedures to conduct the random drawings. There are hundreds of thousands of Lucke-Zone members making many entries into the random drawings. Sometimes we have over a million entries. The more entries you make into a drawing, the more chances you have to win. But having even just one entry in a drawing gives you a chance to win. We hope your next entry is a lucky one!

Online subscription sales account for a very small fraction of overall ticket sales, but we have had a Cash 5 jackpot won through subscription. We have also had a Mega Millions win and a Powerball win. A ticket bought in a store or online have the same chance of beating the odds to win a prize :)

There have been plenty of winners in your area. We just had a player win $5,000 playing Mega Millions. Lucky ticket was sold at Calvander Food Mart on Dairyland Road. Good news! An updated version of the app is in development right now. We do not yet have a release date, but when it comes out you will be able to scan your tickets to enter them for points and second-chance, and the scanning feature will also indicate if your ticket has won a prize. As soon as we have the details on the release date, you guys will be one of the first to know :)

INFO....To see your entries in the 2nd chance drawing, click winners tab, scroll down to 2nd chance drawings ,look to the right. Click on the pull down tab that says "active", change that to ALL. The contests are no longer active because the entry deadline has passed. There are 4 separate X the cash 2nd chance contests. Your points do not roll over to next contest like they did in the PB cruise. After the deadline NEW entries will start to add up for next contest. CHECK THE DATES!!!

Are you talking about entries for "X The Cash" Second Chance Promotion? If so, the entry deadline for the first drawing was 11:59 p.m. on March 31. All the entries made before that time and date have been entered into the first drawing. The first draw will be April 5. There are four drawings in total. But the primary source for answers to questions is to call our customer service team at 877-962-7529 between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The NCEL website home page indicates that the red ball was drawn on the final drawing night (Friday, 3/31/17) yet there is only one set of winning PICK 3 numbers shown?! Why is that? Looks like someone..."dropped the ball" (pun intended;-)! NC Lottery
