Fourth Powerball Power Cruise deadline approaches

The chilly weather may be lingering, but a recent #PBPowerCruise winner is only thinking about sunshine, clear blue waters, and white sandy beaches.

Gregory Moors of Chapel Hill will be taking his wife, Siriwan, on their first cruise after winning an adventure of a lifetime playing Powerball.

“It’s exciting,” Moors said upon claiming his prize. “We’re very, very lucky.”

Big Winners The couple is looking forward to the opportunity to win cash prizes on board and score the $50,000 grand prize.

How do you win a five-night Caribbean cruise with VIP concerts featuring the Goo Goo Dolls and Flo Rida? By Power Playing those Powerball tickets.

Twenty-seven trips have been won so far. Nine more players from North Carolina will win a room on the Power Cruise in Wednesday’s drawing, but you have to enter your $3 tickets by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 12 to be eligible. After that, two more drawings are scheduled, with eight trips to be won on each.

Remember, if you want more chances to win, you must split up your ticket purchase. For example, if you buy $15 worth of Powerball tickets, to have five chances to win, you would need to get five separate #3 tickets.

It's called investigating and asking pertinent questions. I doubt very seriously that security was called to investigate the person that brought in 14 tickets since it appears they were claimed and paid on the same day. If these bulk cash-ins and store owners were thoroughly questioned they would seriously think a second time about "discounting". Of note this same person won 34 more times from Feb '13 to Jan '16 mostly from the same stores in Lumberton, however 21 of the 34 wins have "- n/a or other† -" as the location so NCEL isn't divulging where the tickets were purchased.

The provision is buried deep in the Retailers Contract, however it's not enforced. In addition to losing their licenses they should be criminally charged with Aiding and Abetting and Conspiracy to avoid paying State owed taxes, fines, retributions and penalties. That should apply to individuals also. BTW one person cashed in 14 winners worth $18K the week ending Feb 24. "I've just decided there are lucky people in this world".NC Lottery
It is a policy that is enforced when it demonstrated with the penalty of suspension or termination. Without knowing what a player's financial position is to play often or knowing how often they play, it is impossible to determine how much pure luck and frequency of play factor into their wins.

What you have described is a practice called "discounting" which is a violation of lottery policy. If a store is found to have done that, their license to sell lottery tickets is subject to suspension or termination.

Just missed it!!! Played 227 on 5 tics, 217 came out. That would have been $2500 tax free. Oh well, I was playing on house money so it's all good.....I practice what I preach, only spend what you can afford to loose. Odds are you are going to loose, except it.

Thx, bonus was , I got 300pts for one & 150pts for the other. That's 15 more entries in the Spring Ahead drawing. Not going hawg wild on any thing so far this year. After playing around & experimenting with the first PB cruise drawing, only spending $6 a week on PB just for the hell of it.......NC Lottery

I love the new machines!!!! Put $30 in one Sunday and started tapping the screen to see what all I could do. Tapped Extreme ticket and it said 1 left, so naturally I got it. Won $50 on tic #000. That just confirmed to me how they put the paks in. Went to another store with machine, tapped the Ultimate tic and won $50 on ticket #029. Now I can play extra on the pic 3 & hope the red ball drops.......... I'll keep you posted.......NC Lottery

The blog moderators don't know if the original winner has yet to complete the claim process, or if an alternate has been notified. As you've seen us indicate many times, winners are typically notified within 48 hours of the date of a drawing. But, in accordance with the rules, there are any number of things that can delay initial notification.

Iv been playing since the beginning and one would think I would have been lucky by now and win atleast more than $$25bucks,the problem is that it is an unfair lotto system and they keep a range of winners only!I mean #'s don't lie if 100k people buy a $1 scratch off and loose the lotto made 100g in less then a few minutes ok now think on $2-$3-$5-$10-$20-$30 and figure out what they are making within minutes!where are all those "BILLIONS"going? Yep they can afford more winners is all im saying!
