Henderson County retiree wins $5,000 instantly

Hazel Enloe of Flat Rock did not waste any time coming to our Asheville claims center Monday morning to collect the $5,000 prize she won playing the new $1,000,000 Taxes Paid scratch-off game.

She told our staff that she felt happy when she realized she won and started shaking with excitement.

Enloe bought her lucky $10 ticket at the Energy Mart on Chimney Rock Road in Hendersonville.

The new Taxes Paid scratch-off games started on First Tuesday. A player who wins a top prize in one of the games will get a check for the top prize amount with the taxes already paid.

Turbo - not sure on 493. The last $100K claim was on March 1, 2017. Last $1M claim was Aug 30, 2016. ~557k tickets left and 11.32% of all prizes are left. I'll wait a bit before playing again but expect the last $1M to show up in Raleigh or Charlotte since all of the big wins have been in smaller towns, except for one $100K in Greensboro.
