Some big wins mean some big vacations for our winners this week.

On Monday, John and Lisa Loftis of Browns Summit, claimed a Carolina Cash 5 jackpot worth $514,153.

The Triad-area natives say they’re finally going on the Las Vegas vacation of their dreams. They also plan to pay off their house. They purchased the winning ticket at the Shell station on N.C. 150 in Browns Summit.

Dale Curtis of Shelby plans to celebrate his 21st birthday in Myrtle Beach, S.C.  thanks to a $200,000 lottery win.

“It’s a nice birthday present,” Curtis said. “I’m going to take my mom and go to Bike Week.”

His good fortune happened when he bought a 20X The Cash ticket at the Campus Store on North Main Street in Boiling Springs.

For Jo Davis, a daycare worker from Red Springs, a $200,000 win means she can get a new backyard pool and spend the summer with her grandchildren.

“It will be good to get this for them,” Davis said. “Right now they’re occupied by their phones. We need to occupy them outside.”

Davis bought the “7” scratch-off ticket while she was getting groceries at the Food Lion on North Patterson Street in Maxton.

And Alvin Chavis of Maxton won $50,000 playing Powerball.
