Major wins from mountains to coast and in between

Lucky winners across North Carolina are heading into the holiday weekend with some extra cash.

The biggest winners of the week split a $416,632 Cash 5 jackpot down the middle. John Ford of Edenton and Charles Neill III of High Point won $208,316 each in the May 19 drawing.

Two other Cash 5 winners collected their jackpot winnings. Marsoline Sanders of Statesville won $55,380 in the May 8 drawing and Diana Woolard of Belhaven won $50,000 in the May 5 drawing.

Two players claimed $150,000 prizes. Barbara Joyner of Winterville got lucky in the May 17 Powerball drawing. Kathy Garcia of Charlotte won instantly on a $500 Cash ticket.

Big Winners

Three more players added their names to the list of $50,000 winners:

- Janetta Kirby of Supply (5/17 Powerball draw)
- Kenneth Paxton of Shelby (Ultimate Millions)
- John Price of Salisbury (Extreme Millions)

Jerry Smothers of Fayetteville snagged the $25,000 top prize on a Scoop the Cash ticket.

Fourteen players scratched their way to $10K:

- Henrico Catoe of Charlotte (Jumbo Bucks)
- Daniel Caton of Maiden ($5,000,000 Mega Cash)

- Marcus Holland of North Wilkesboro ($1,000,000 Taxes Paid)
- Na Khansouvong of Conover (Ruby Red 7's)
- Charles Lawwill of Matthews ($1,000,000 Bonus Cash)
- Joseph McGinley of Durham (10X The Cash)
- Shawana McLean of SpringLake ("7")
- Shelia Montana of Jacksonville (Ruby Red 7's)
- James Morris of Burnsville ($5,000,000 Mega Cash)
- Sherlyn Rogers of Wilmington (5X The Cash)
- Lucinda Williams of Zebulon (Ruby Red 7's)

Prizes of $5,000 were awarded to a baker's dozen winners. They are from: Canton, Charlotte, Fayetteville, Franklington, Jacksonville, Lexington, Mebane, Morganton, Salisbury, Shiloh, Supply, Waxhaw, and Wilmington.

But we got you covered :) No, once you enter your tickets into Lucke-Rewards, there is no reason to keep your tickets.

I've been playing a good bit and am curious. I don't see many winners from Buncombe County. Is it a factor that there are less players here than in other counties? And is there a simple way to look up winners from my area, short of going through pages and pages of "winners?" Such as, is there a search feature that will show me Buncombe County winners only? Say you want to know about winners in Buncombe County, here is what you type into the search engine: site:nc-educationlottery.org "Buncombe County" When we did it, we saw a $1 million prize that was won right after the new year. You can see winners from your area and also read some pretty cool stories. We call that a win, win :)

Of all the winners listed in "Winners" pages, none of the Jackpot winners are ever in Sanford, or Lee County at that matter. NC Lottery

If you go to our "Scract-Offs" page on our website and select any ticket, you can scroll to the bottom and it will let you know when the prize remaining count was last updated. Right now, the last update was on May 27. Updates are done at the end of each day :)

Anyway, player said they can't win over $ 100.00 .
