Lottery joins TV stations to say ‘Thanks’ to teachers

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Day, we want to share stories of some of great teachers in North Carolina.

The stories appear every week during the school year on four TV stations across North Carolina – WITN in Eastern North Carolina, WRAL in the Triangle, WGHP in the Triad, and WLOS in the mountains. They are produced as part of a partnership between the lottery and the four stations that show lottery drawings. 

The stories spotlight some of the great teachers in our state and the work they do to help our children succeed in school.

But the program is also a way to show appreciation to teachers throughout the school year for their work and dedication. Teachers may get a plaque or a gift card. WGHP plans to honor all the teachers it featured at a luncheon later this month. Next week, WLOS will honor its teachers at a dinner.
