One ticket wins record $1.7 million Cash 5 jackpot

RALEIGH – Five winning numbers turned one lucky Cash 5 ticket into a $1.7 million jackpot win, the largest in the game’s history.

The winning numbers in Saturday’s drawing were 2-4-25-34-38.

The jackpot-winning ticket was purchased about an hour northwest of Charlotte in Hickory, at the Cubbard Express at the intersection of U.S. 321 NW and 2nd Avenue NW.

Big Winners

The previous record for the largest jackpot won by a single ticket was $1.14 million, set in March 2013. Until Saturday’s drawing, the biggest Cash 5 jackpot ever won was $1.35 million. It was split by three tickets in May 2011.

Monday is the first day that players can visit the lottery’s new Raleigh claims center located at 2728 Capital Boulevard. We are looking forward to meeting the jackpot winner.

At this time, the appointed commission that oversees the state lottery's operations has approved subscription service sales only for Cash 5, Mega Millions, Powerball, and Lucky for Life. If that ever changes we will share that news with everyone here.

I still say there is somthing fishy about the balls or somthing.. different set of balls might be picked daily but the lottery head quarter's has to know what numbers are gonna come out each time... if it wasnt rigged you could just put three sets of 0-9 for the pick three and let it randomly pick each time without changing the balls or machine... if the balls are changed each time u can bet they know whats coming next... u better believe there gonna favor it in the advantageNC Lottery

About rigging... I have analyzed every draw for Cash5 and powerball, and the pick3 and pick4 games. The historical numbers are not random as some are favored statistically more than others. There is not a statistical randomness which would have a more even history in each game. You can have all the controls and keys you want, but there are other ways to nudge certain numbers over others. It's 2017 and technology can do many things. Just saying. Maybe some day I will predict your pattern...NC Lottery
You can look at any set of historical data and find a pattern if you're looking for one. But it is not predictive of what will happen in the future, because it's all driven by random chance.

The interstate lottery associations can decrease the odds of winning to 3 Billion to 1, knowing that the more weeks the pool grows, the higher the profit. The computing power they have is more than enough to manipulate Quick Pick odds (the majority of tickets) in undetectable ways, instantly switching back to normal odds if a large scale audit were to be announced. In this case someone will eventually win; the states win because they pay out at less than the advertised rate. Far from just being a common scam in one-armed casino games, it's likely that most state and US lottery games are corrupt simply because so much of state budgets have grown to depend on it. 20 percent more of billions of dollars in revenue is easy sport when the rubes that play have virtually no chance of detecting the scam.

I saw a comment, How can the lottery be rigged? Well, lotteries do continue to be rigged by IT professionals and confidants. I notified NJ lottery of a method for catching people involved in this sort of fraud but never got an answer from them, which makes me think they had been stung by it by the time I notified them.

So u say they put a different det of balls in each draw... it might be a different set.. but does each set contain 0-9?... it feels like they put what balls inside that they want to.... its luke the numbers are looked at before the draw to see how many people played what set of numbers and then they pick the least played number for that day. I know ive ran the same set of numbers for four months i played $100 a draw and only hit it a hand full of times... seem like im always one digit off... what a coincidence huh?

On 6/04/2017 11:13, navygold2002 .**** NG2002, no disrespect, but I have seen u blog many times and LZ answer your questions also. There is a display at all merchants that sell tickets. That display has all the pamphlets to ALL the draw games NC has to offer. Those pamphlets have all the info you need to know. Or you could just ask the clerks, if they don't know they should be able to direct you to the pamphlets. In short, pic3 & 4 and cash5 are NC only games. Powerball & Mega Mil and lucky for life are multi state. PB & MM about 44 states And LFL 22 states. All that info is also on the NCEL main web site page. Just click on games, pick one & then click one "how to play". I hope that helps you and others.

I am not saying the lottery is rigged but each to his own opinion but it does seem that the only ones that truly believe the lottery is going by the books are the winners!!!!I have been playing the lottery from day one which is 11 years! I have played them all and lots of the scratch offs.I dont care if you have a INDEPENDENT auditor as anyone can be shady.I dont believe everyone has the same chance of winning as most of the winners are from the same areas over and over.Small towns gets the bad end of the stick .I agree the a large town will have more winners but they have all the winners even the scratch offs and no one is suppose to know where the winning tickets are in a roll but they are always in the same area.Everyone has the right to believe what they want but you need to quit saying everyone has the same chance .I live in a county that has had only one million $ winner and they purchased the ticket in Raleigh.No powerball,no mega million winners and very few scratch off over a $50.00 to $100.00

How can the lotto be rigged? A new set of balls are ised for each drawing and the case containing the balls with 4 or 5 people with required keys to open it while accompanied by a nc law enforcement officer. I don't see how.
