Asheville store sells $237K Cash 5 jackpot ticket

Someone who played Carolina Cash 5 in the mountains won heap of prize money in Wednesday's Carolina Cash 5 drawing.

The only ticket to match all five winning numbers was sold at the Citistop on Biltmore Avenue in Asheville. The winning numbers were 3-9-26-32-33.

The jackpot grew to $237,843 after 10 straight drawings without a perfect ticket.

Big Winners

Thanks to the Cash 5 $100K Days promotion, the jackpot for Thursday's drawing reset to $100,000 - double the usual starting jackpot. All July long, Cash 5 players will have the chance to win at least $100,000.

Why advertise the 17 million printed ? ALL OF THEM will Never be circulated or won. It's FALSE and not true. MANY GAMES have ended with big So- called Aka Fake prizes left. Just be honest; if there are 10 million to be won , the percentage of lost, trashed or forgotten winners will be VERY SMALL.I stopped scratchers Long ago. It's not a fair system AT ALL

There maybe 17 million extreme Millions printed but I'd say NCEL tells how far into the 17 Million tickets they want the Top prizes to be printed. The Top prizes are still in a Warehouse some where to be Distributed in a year or two! Look how long the ultimate Millions game has lasted! And the next 2nd drawing TBA

Lady Luck; If you believe that reply about ALL 4 winning 10 Mil tickets in circulation at once , well it's not true. My friend picks up trash at 10 stores in 4 counties. Has bags of losing $30 scratchers , not even a dollar on them. Might be 1 in store by now, but NCEL Controls when big ones are released and probably Where. This and all scratchers are a joke. $30 a pop should payback $5-10 on 1/4 but NO. WE have counted thousands in scanned / checked trashed tickets with NO WIN At all. Good luck on this scam NC Lottery
It's important to keep in mind that over 17 million tickets have been printed in the Extreme Millions scratch-off game. The lottery doesn't know which packet of tickets contains the top prizes, they are distributed at random.

Congratulations! Was this on a self-pick or Quick-pick? Rumor has it if you going to play always do the QP. More lucky, evidently it is, never have won anything on my own picks. NC Lottery
We'll ask the winner when they claim the prize if they chose their own numbers or got a Quick Pick. The odds are the same either way :-)

When will the 4 10 million dollar prizes for the $30 scratch off ticket Extreme Millions be released for sale? I find it very strange that not one ticket has been sold yet. Is it true that those 4 10 million dollar tickets will not be put into circulation until the money is made to cover the winnings?NC Lottery
There is no schedule for "release" of any particular tickets. For all we know one or more players have scratched off a $10 million prize but have yet to come to headquarters to claim it. In some cases second-chance drawings are scheduled as it relates to ticket sales. But there is no truth to the speculation that tickets are held or placed into circulation based on ticket sales. We would love to have a $10 million winner in the game any time because it helps sperad the word about the game. Sometimes we get one, sometimes we don't :-D

There is no way to play wrong - the odds are the odds, and it's just random chance every time you play. This is true whether a person has only played the lottery one time or many times. If you are not enjoying yourself it might be better to take a break. Games of chance can be fun but because most tickets don't win prizes, it takes luck to win a prize, big or small.

@TURBO, I am the same way. I don't really play MM and PB. I mainly play pick 4 but I also will try LFL and Cash 5. I'm waiting on the 3934 straight to hit pick 4. I wish you the best of luck also!

BigJohn, I hardly ever play MM or PB. Games of choice are cash5 & LFL. Most ever won, got on cash5 was 4 of 5 a few times. Most on LFL was $20 or $25 a few times . Never won on pick 3. By dumb luck (or Karma ) I actually won pick4 for Exact 4 times in 3 years. 3 for $5k & 1 for $2500. Most won on scratch was twice for $1k last year on the Ultimate & twice this year for $1k each on extreme this year. Good luck to you sir.
