Three big jackpots to kick off your week

There are some big jackpot numbers on the board heading into this week's drawings.

After nine straight drawings without a perfect ticket, the Cash 5 jackpot has reached $653,000 for Monday's drawing.

The Mega Millions jackpot, now at $346 million for Tuesday night, has been rolling for more than three months.

Weighing in at $307 million for Wednedsday's drawing, the Powerball jackpot was last hit on June 10.

Also, don't forget, there are Lucky for Life drawings Monday and Thursday nights. A ticket for the game gives you the chance to win the prize of a lifetime: $1,000 a Day for Life.

Stephanie, right now the App is only available for Apple phones. It should be available for Android in a couple of days. You'll look for the lottery logo.

Considering my neighbor whom is a teacher had to buy her own supplies for her class last week out of her own underpaid pocket, something doesn't add up. NC Lottery
The lottery made $622 million in additional education funds available last year. Elected officials in the state legislature decide which programs receive the funds. Over the last 11 years, the money has been directed to pay for things like the salaries of teachers and teacher assistants, school construction, prekindergarten, college assistance, and digital learning initiatives. They have not so far directed lottery funds to pay for school supplies. The same elected officials decide how to spend more the more than $12 billion - billion with a B - statewide education budget. Lottery funds make a difference but they will never cover every need.

Time for the NCEL quarterly fund raiser no way in the world no on has hit the Cash 5 yet this is getting ridiculous. Please stop putting so much money in advertising and put money into your players hands. I'm a member of multiple facebook groups and i know a lot of players and they are saying they're cutting back playing because of the way the lottery is going.NC Lottery
Like all draw games, Carolina Cash 5 pays out 50% in prizes over time including jackpot winnings. Just as a Powerball jackpot can grow to a large amount over time, it's all a matter of luck and odds with Cash 5 too. The draw results are random, held according to security procedures with an independent auditor present. The lottery does not keep its profits - 100% of earnings benefit education. Last year players won $1.54 billion in prizes and that made it possible for the lottery to return $622 million to the state for education. We wish everyone taking a chance to win good luck.

This is standard in the industry. A typical instant ticket has 20 layers of ink, latex and other materials. Issues with colors, chemicals and image alignment are just some of the natural challenges with any printing system. Samples are tested in a lab to ensure tickets meet consumer product and security standards. Holding the product to a high standard means that it is routine for an instant game to require that hundreds or thousands of packs of tickets are replaced. The smart software in the production system knows how to reprint exactly the packs of tickets that had to be discarded, ensuring the prizes planned for the game are physically in the game.

A Pick 3 or Pick 4 ticket can be canceled at the location where it was purchased within 15 minutes.

People are always saying no way those numbers can come out this way or that way. It must be rigged. Well, I got a $5 cash5 QP, Line A was 06,09,15,26,34. Then I did a replay on a $5 tic from the day before. Line A was 06,09,25,26,34. What are the chances of that. IT'S ALL RANDOME.

Freespirit, it's always been my understanding that a clerk can cancel a draw ticket like PB, MM, LFL & cash5 if there was a mistake & it was done right away. example you ask for a $5 one # five draws & they print you a tic with 5 lines on it. I've had that happen. Just tell the clerk NO that's not what I asked for. No reason for either party to get upset. You can not do that with a pic3 or 4. It's been awhile , I think I got that straight. Most of the time I just buy the mistake & have them print what I ask for. I'll continue on next line.

An entry you make has just as good a chance as an entry made by anyone else. The random number generator used in the drawings has no idea whose entries are whose.

Looks like there was another printing faux pas with the Ultimate Millions. Based on the original prizes and odds 16,437,272 tickets were printed. I got a UM yesterday with pack #614162 which would mean at least 18,424,860 tickets were printed, almost a 2M difference in tickets. With only 4.73% of the tickets still available look for this game to end with top prizes being unclaimed again just like the Multiplier Spectacular. Seems to only happen to games with $4M prizes and above. I'm keeping tabs on the EM also, 34% of the tickets have been sold and no $10M winner yet.NC Lottery

This is confirmed again when the game is loaded into the lottery's gaming system. And, as we discussed this summer, instant games undergo a post-game reconciliation that is audited to account for all inventory.

I saw something that angered me when I was in a local C-Store; angered at a customer and the Lottery. A customer ordered 5 Mega-Millions Quick-Picks; when the clerk handed him the ticket, the Mega Ball on four lines of the numbers was the same ... the number 11. The customer refused to pay for the tickets and stormed out of the store. The clerk burst into tears saying she was going to have to pay for those tickets, and she could ill afford to do so! Is that true? If a customer refuses to pay for the tickets, are the clerks responsible? I can see their punching out wrong game tickets, but this is absurd, if it's true!! I felt sorry for her plight and paid for the tickets knowing full well I wouldn't have a chance in Hades of winning anything ... I was right.NC Lottery
That would be a store policy, not a lottery policy. We are sorry to hear that this employee had an upsetting experience and it was kind of you to buy the tickets. The tickets had the same chance to win as any other tickets. Best of luck.
