We’re gearing up for fall here at the North Carolina Education Lottery, and we’ll be out and about across the state as you celebrate the season. At every event, you can learn about our new and exciting games as well as take part in the “Buy, Spin, and Win” promotion for a chance to win lottery merchandise.

Here’s a look at the events we’ll be heading to.

The Mountain State Fair (Sept. 8-17): The Mountain State Fair celebrates the people, agriculture, art and tradition that make the region great. Be sure to join us for North Carolina Education Lottery Day on Saturday, Sept. 16. The first 15,000 adults will receive a promotional scratch and win ticket for fair prizes upon entry to the fair.

Dragway NHRA Nationals (Sept. 15-17):  If you’re a racing fan, this is the event for you. We’ll be at the zMax Dragway in Concord as the NHRA’s best drivers begin their quest for supremacy in the first race of the six-race NHRA Mello Yello Series.

Bikefest (Sept. 22-24): Join us for the 13th annual Ray Price Capital City Bikefest in downtown Raleigh. The event provides a unique experience to see a stunning assortment of bikes. Stop by our booth and check out the NCEL themed bike. You can also get your pictures taken during our meet and greets with special guests Jodi Perewitz “The World’s Fastest Women” and David Ankin from the hit TV show “ToyMakerz”.

Dixie Classic Fair (Sept. 29-Oct. 8): Whether you go for the savory eats, the thrilling rides, or the spectacle one thing is for sure, this year’s Dixie Classic Fair will be the best yet! We’re sponsoring the Grandstand, and want to make sure you enjoy all the great entertainment, including the Figure 8 Racing and Demolition Derby Series.

North Carolina Seafood Festival (Oct. 6-8): Get your fill of fresh fish at the Seafood Festival in Morehead City. It features chef tents, rides, concerts, fishing tournaments, and a boat show. If you need help getting to the festival, look for us. We’re sponsoring a trolley that will transport people from the parking lot to all of the activities.

BOA 500 Weekend (Oct. 6-8): We’ll be at the Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Bank of America 500 Weekend. Sparks will fly as the playoff intensity heats up with the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series’ Bank of America 500, NASCAR’s fall classic. This showdown could make or break drivers’ championship dreams.

Riverfest (Oct. 7-8): Join us in Wilmington for Riverfest. You’ll find craft vendors, concessions booths, a children’s play area, entertainment on various stages, Saturday night fireworks, and more.

MumFest (Oct. 13-15): Don’t miss MumFest in New Bern. It’s a combination of family fun, attractions, exhibitors and yummy food. You can expect some great entertainment as well. We’re sponsoring the kick-off concert featuring country music star Brett Young.

BBQ Festival (Oct. 28): You can’t go wrong with BBQ, so come on down to Lexington for the 34th annual Barbecue Festival. They’re expecting a record crowd this year. There will be over four hundred vendors selling everything from handmade crafts to homemade fudge. There are also seven stages showcasing local and national talent.

World of Outlaws World Finals (Nov. 2-4): We’re back at the Charlotte Motor Speedway for the most prestigious dirt racing event in the country. It’s three days of heart-pounding, clay-slinging action on the lightning-fast, four-tenths mile oval. The World of Outlaws World Finals brings together the top series in the sport, the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the Big-Block Modifieds of the Super DIRTcar Series.

So make sure you stop by and see us. It will be as fun as it sounds!

All of my information is correct nothing has changed. You all did great on the first check that was sent. Afterwards I don't know what happened any other time I would win something. It would always take longer to receive my other payments. So I would appreciate my winnings.NC Lottery
Customer Service checked and you will receive your prizes as requested. Please remember these timelines. Prize requests take about 48 to 72 hours to process, which includes printing and mailing. This time frame starts the moment players request their winnings. The amount of time it takes players to receive their prizes after mailing is dependent on the Postal Service, but players should wait five to seven business days from their initial request. If you have questions or need help, the best way to get help is to call Subscription Support 1 855-767-1863.

It is becoming more and more obvious that my winnings are not being deposited right away. May I have my winnings please from powerball I believe in entitled to whatever I won.

9/21/2017 01:29 - Teri G.

Once again I got a few of those numbers right last night in powerball and my small winnings was not posted. Or rather deposited Why?NC Lottery
If you call 1-877-962-7529 someone should be able to help you figure out why your winnings aren't showing up.

9/21/2017 01:10 - David B.

Guess I struck a nerve with NCEL on a comment that was not posted or addressed. It was a legitimate question that the NCEL refused to post. So,to me that shows the NCEL post only what they want players to see or know. Censorship? NC Lottery
Sorry it took us so long to reply. Yesterday was a busy day! We welcome your comments and questions as long as they don't disparage another player.

9/20/2017 01:43 - David B.

If tickets are collected and destroyed that means a top prize could be also. Meaning they can't be won.Does the NCEL Make this public that all top Prizes are not available? Do they reprint ticket? If so,they know where a top prize is. That correct?NC Lottery
The lottery doesn’t destroy any scratch-off ticket until after a game has ended. Generally, the lottery will end a game when all top prizes are won or when 90% of the total packs have been activated and retailers are no longer ordering the ticket. We do not know in what packs top prizes are located or which stores have packs with top prizes. If we have to collect a partial pack of activated tickets because a store is closing, there is a chance that those tickets not purchased from the pack may have prizes on them. For security reasons, those unsold tickets can’t be reassigned to a new store. The lottery does update every day on its website and for retail locations how many prizes are left at each prize point in each instant game.

9/18/2017 02:59 - Michael M.

I don't play much because you rarely see anyone hit in my area... Maybe a few times but nothing like other areas and that's on all tickets... I understand it's a long shot to hit anything really life changing but it would be nice to see more winners... Just my thoughts... A broke person can't really play scratch offs in hopes of hitting a million bc there 10 20 or 30 bucks a pice.... Not that im broke but thays the reason most ppl play....

9/18/2017 11:50 - Denver G.

hey,, chocolatechip, maybe you could use an old zip up bank pouch, they can hold the big scratch offs and all your winnings. Side bar here: When keno comes here on 10/29 it will only be at a few (500) select places. I have only found one place that said they were chosen, the deadline has already past to put in for it. The place of bizness has to have what it takes to run such a game. Think about the logistics of it, a drawing every 5 minutes from 5 AM in the morning till 1 AM... They will need lots of room and a cashier/clerk devoted just to this game

9/18/2017 11:50 - William D.

with such confusion about the Ending soon dates, maybe it could be Ending Sales Date and have them picked up AFTER that date.

9/18/2017 03:30 - Mary H.

In your response to Turbo I feel like your just making an excuse for some reason.#1-I have been told by retailers they can't request what tickets they want. Is this true? #2-There are a lot of tickets out there that are 2 to 3 years old still for sale. None of the ones that I am talking about have been reordered.Example-$2,500 A Week For Life launched July 2014. You can't find them anywhere in OUR state. I wish I could. Why is that? Is this the next one to go with a top Prize still left. #3-The Lottery, Retailers and employees need to be on the same page. It's total unfair to the public to be misinformed. Can you please explain this?NC Lottery
Retailers are allowed to choose the tickets they want to sell. In regards to your second concern, the $2,500 a Week For Life ticket is being sold at stores across the state. We had over 800 packs requested for the game last week alone. Because retailers can choose what tickets they carry, you won't find the ticket in every store, but they are out there.

9/18/2017 02:34 - Mary H.

You have been at New Bern, Morehead and Wilmington several times. This is the NC State Lottery. I think you should make it a permanent appearance at the NC State Fair. Raleigh is the Capital of North Carolina. (Lottery).

9/18/2017 02:09 - Mary H.

Do the retailers have the new player wallets in stock now? I really wish you had made them to fit the scratch offs. I commented on it several times. I understand about a standard size being more economical but the must be a next size up. NC Lottery
New player wallets are available, but they are the same size as the old ones. They are designed to hold someone's play slips and draw tickets. Sounds like you would like to use them for instant tickets too. We've shared your suggestions for larger with our sales and marketing team and they said they would look at that as an option in the future.

9/18/2017 12:40 - Michael R.

I need a second chance I need a second chance

9/17/2017 09:24 - Melissa N.

you all wont be at the NC state fair in OctoberNC Lottery
We won't be. We try to go to a variety of different events across the state.

9/17/2017 05:54 - William D.

got the ending soon section. Why are the ones Turbo is talking about says ending Nov 17, but are already been picked up? 2 months early. NC Lottery
When we end a game, we designate a collection period that give our sales representatives time to stop by all of our over 6,800 retail locations and gather the tickets before the game ends. In this case, we have started collecting those tickets, and they will be collected until November 17th.

9/17/2017 02:33 - Renee S.

When will any new second chance drawings come out? NC Lottery
Every month we offer different drawings and chances to win. Keep checking our promotions page for the latest offerings.

9/17/2017 12:31 - William D.

be nice if a warning date for ending a game would be given. could be good for both sides, one: more tickets might be sold in record time and two: someone could hit what they were looking for. better than walking in a store and find out WHAAT. food for thought.NC Lottery
Agreed. The lottery posts that information on its website on the Scratch-Offs page under the Game tab. http://www.nc-educationlottery.org/instant.aspx Look for the Ending Soon ribbon. About two weeks from the date when the games will end, the lottery also posts that information on a blog on the Lucke-Zone and shares that on social media. Retailers decides how many games they will sell and which ones. So as games get older, sometimes you have have to shop around.

9/17/2017 11:52 - Ralph W.

When the Lucke-Reward drawings take place are the winners selected by county, first or last name or by how many entries you have in i just want to know because it seems as nobody from Winston-Salem area is winning at anything and thats with the lottery as a whole ijs...NC Lottery
Winners are selected at random. Which means as long as you have one entry in the drawing, you have a chance to win. The more entries you have the better your odds are, but it only takes one entry to win.

9/17/2017 11:01 - Tony T.

why is it the games Turbo mentioned below that are ending are showing status updates as On Pick up AND Reordered? Scratch offs then prizes remaining section . NC Lottery
"Reordered" means that after as the first set of tickets printed in the game were about to be sold out, the lottery ordered a second printing and increasd the prize count accordingly. Because the games are scheduled to end in November, the lottery's sales staff has begun collecting unsold tickets from the 6800 retail locations in the state.

9/17/2017 10:53 - Denver G.

87spg, I know 10x the face value on all 4 of those, that's why I hate to see them go. I think a lot off people forgot or never knew....

9/17/2017 10:13 - LaTonya S.

Has anyone won the Lucky Life $1,000 a day prize? I know the 25,000 prize has been won several times. Just curious of who the winner of the major prize is. NC Lottery
So far, two people have won the top prize in North Carolina in the Lucky For Life game. German Gomez of Selma in Johnston County. Read his story here. http://bit.ly/2y7DA5f And Manalle Earnhardt of Salisbury. Read her story here. http://bit.ly/2xqwagr

9/17/2017 08:39 - Mike S.

Hey Turbo, you also get a minimum 100 rewards points on 493, not just the face value.

9/16/2017 11:19 - james c.

It is deceptive of for the $30 ticket is sold .The desperity in the ultimate vs.the extreme $30 statical almost 5 to 100 payout . Although it is that the ' tba on this ticket is dependent on this ticket sales ???. NC Lottery
No. Each instant game operates independently. The revenue generated from tickets sold in an instant game also funds all of that game's prizes, including the second-chance drawings.

9/16/2017 11:02 - William L.

What happens to the scratch offs when a gas station or grocery store that sells them closes? NC Lottery
When a store that sells scratch-off tickets closes, a lottery representative will collect the remaining tickets. If a package of tickets is unopened, it will go back into our warehouse and we will redistribute it to different retailers. If a package is open and tickets are activated, those tickets will be collected and destroyed.

9/16/2017 09:53 - Ernestine B.

I'll be play lucke-rewards for a long time now, haven't won anything yet.

9/16/2017 10:18 - David W.

I see that they no longer post a blog with weekly lists of winners.

9/16/2017 07:50 - Denver G.

The fair was fun. It's always fun to watch the city slickers react to the "farm" animals , especially the kids. Bought some molasses, I sure as heck don't need to buy honey, but there was plenty there to buy. Exchanged stories with some of the other bee keepers (BEEKS) there. Did the win & spin, won a free tee shirt & it only cost me $7.

9/15/2017 11:42 - ROBERT T.

Not at the North Carolina state fair this year ? NC Lottery
We are not. We like to go to a variety of different events across the state. hopefully you'll be able to join us at one of those.

9/15/2017 09:41 - Gregory F.

I"m still think the lottery are takeING advantage of people in the Ahoskie area no big money in Ahoskie all these people buying tickets Ahoskie is a poor economic area . People buy these tickets trying to win big but nothing including myself. It a shame the take advantageof us.please put some big money in Ahoskie please.

9/15/2017 08:43 - colleen h.

The store where I purchase tickets was told they cult not order ult.millions because it the game was endind.so how do you really decide what stores get what tickets?NC Lottery
Retailers can order any of our games that are active at the time. Tickets are distributed at random, but retailers can choose which games they offer.

9/15/2017 05:49 - Vivian n.

I am ready love you

9/15/2017 11:12 - Renee D.

Nc lottery lucky zone I'm ready for my financial blessing??????

9/15/2017 09:39 - Michael B.

#1- has anyone ever won EZ match and Cash 5 Jackpot on the same ticket ? #2-has anyone ever won Cash 5 jackpot on advance play ticket ?NC Lottery
It is likely that a Cash 5 jackpot winner has also played E-Z match, but the lottery doesn't track wins that way in its talks with winners. Generally, the lottery will ask winners of jackpots if they play their own numbers of do Quick Picks, but not more detailed questions such as that.

9/15/2017 08:50 - Denver G.

Why are games 490,491 & 492 ending on 11/17 but not 493??? . There are plenty of top prizes on all four of them.NC Lottery
Hey, Turbo. Those 4 games were launched in April 2016. By the time the games are ended, they will be more than 18 months old. It is the lottery’s judgement that because the first three games are no longer requested by enough retailers to sell, it can't justify keeping them as part of the inventory after that time. If retailers aren't willing to keep those games in the dispensers, it is difficult to sell them. Players really make thi8s decision. If players aren’t interested in the games anymore, you can't blame retailers for not stocking them. Hopefully, more of those prizes will be claimed in the new four to five months before the last day to claim. The fourth game is still in demand, possibly because it has that top prize of $1 million prize yet to be claimed as well as a $100,000 prize. So the lottery’s decision was to keep that game going a while longer.

9/14/2017 07:06 - Robert P.

What about Lincolnton's Apple FestivaNC Lottery
We won't make it there this fall, but you never know. Perhaps next year.

9/14/2017 05:03 - greg s.

why are stores still selling 30 dollar ult. ticket when last mill dollar ticket has been claimed? NC Lottery
Two $1 million prizes can still be won, one instantly and the other in the final second-chance drawing. Some players would like to try for those.
