Prepare to be dazzled!

Our new games are out just in time for First Tuesday and they feature a family of four Diamond Dazzler scratch-offs including the most dazzling of all, the $4,000,000 Diamond Dazzler game with three top prizes of $4 million.

In all, the four games offer more than $136 million in prizes.

The $4,000,000 Diamond Dazzler, printed on holographic paper, just sparkles. Besides the three $4 million prizes, the $20 game also has six $1 million prizes to be won and six $100,000 prizes. Winners have a choice of taking the $4 million or $1 million prize as an annuity or at a discounted lump sum. Overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 2.98 and the approximate odds of winning the $4 million top prize are 1 in 2,280,000.

The $250,000 Diamond Dazzler, a $5 game, lets you scratch some diamonds to see if you won one of five top prizes of $250,000. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 4.10 and the approximate odds of winning the $250,000 top prize are 1 in 1.2 million.

The next sparkle comes from $50,000 Diamond Dazzler, a $2 game. It has six top prizes of $50,000. Overall odds of winnning any prize are 1 in 4.63 and the approximate odds of winning of a top prize are 1 in 1.2 million.

Last in the Dazzler collection is $10,000 Diamond Dazzler, a $1 game with 10 top prizes of $10,000. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 4.79 and the approximate odds of winning a top prize are 1 in 1.2 million.

No matter which Dazzler game you are playing, they all shine with the same special feature. Find a “Diamond” symbol when you scratch for prizes and you win all the prizes on the ticket.

Are you already thinking about Halloween? Then our last game may be the one for you. The $3 Spooky Bucks game offers four top prizes of $75,000. The overall odds of winnig a prize are 1 in 3.99 and the approximate odds of winning a top prize are 1 in 960,000. Score the "BUCKS" symbol and walk away a winner with all 12 prizes on your ticket.

NCEL where do you go to find a list of games and how many winning tickets are still are still left out here to be received? Odds of winning said one out of three purchased 10 tickets and not a single winner how is this possible?NC Lottery
It's on the lottery's web page. http://www.nc-educationlottery.org/instant.aspx Just click on the game you are interested in. The information is updated daily. The odds are for the whole game. Each purchase you make is an independent play. What happened with the first ticket you purchased has nothing to do with what happened with the second and third. Think of flipping a coin. The chances of heads are one in two. But that doesn't mean that every other time you flip the coin it will come up heads. Or that if you flip the coin 10 times it will be heads five times. If every one out of three tickets was a winner, the results would not be random.

Now that's interesting, because I always thought those were the remaining prizes to purchase, not prizes that were unclaimed. So of a sratch off indicates 4 100,000 tickets remaining, these may not be available for purchase, they could be purchased tickets unclaimed? That is misleading.NC Lottery
Good morning, JerzyGirl. The lottery reports how many prizes still remain to be claimed in each game. But if someone has a winning ticket and has chosen not to bring it in, then the lottery wouldn't know that. Players have 90 days after an instant game ends to claim their prizes. The lottery posts the information on prize remaining because many players wanted to know to be better informed consumers. But it doesn't know where winning tickets are or when they are sold.

Hi. I have a question about notifying winners of second chance entries with tickets. You say that you notify winners either by phone or email. If I'm a winner, and you try to notify me by phone, and I don't answer the call, do you all leave a message or just disqualify the winner for not responding to your call or email? With so many phishing/scam phone calls going around, I don't always answer numbers that I don't recognize and was just wondering how this is handled. Thank you!!NC Lottery
Yes, the lottery will leave a message as long as the voicemail is set up and not full. If the lottery cannot contact the player by phone, a certified letter is mailed.

I have a question about scratch-offs. If the top prize tickets are produced when the games are originally distributed, wouldn't that mean that restocked tickets (produced after the original release date) do not include the top prizes? I know some stores that have restocked certain games at least 3 times. NC Lottery
Hi there!Do you mean when a retailer runs out of a ticket and requests more? If so, here is your answer :) Restocking at a retailer is normal and good! We print a certain number of tickets, anticipating the game will be restocked at stores. Top prizes are produced when the game is printed. When a game is printed, not all the tickets will be distributed at one time. They are distributed over the life of the game. Hope that helps!

Hey LZ, I stopped buying the Extreme Millions for a good while but husband kept buying and now I am back to buying them. The question I have is this game launched December 6th, 2016. This says it has 4 $10,000,000 prizes and all 4 prizes are still out there, so when is a BIG WINNING TICKET coming out or are they all for the 2nd chance drawing. Looks like to me someone would have won a $10,000,000 prize already. Just wondering but then I wonder about a lot of stuff with this lottery.NC Lottery
That's the random part about it. It's also possible that someone has one of those top prizes, but has not yet claimed their prize. $10 million is a major win and folks should take their time and consider how they want to handle that life-changing win. Please keep in mind that the $30 games are designed to last two years or more. The final $10 million prize in the Ultimate Millions game was claimed last month, just before the game turned two years old. Good luck on finding one of those $10 million tickets.

For the second chance drawing, why does it take so long for y'all to PICK and POST winners in these drawings. A drawing can end on 8/31 and then you have to wait a week or two to find out who won. I think it's an annoying slow process considering the players has so many games to play and keep up with. also are winners picked randomly based on just entering or by who has accumulated the most points. Winners are notified usually within 48 hours of the drawings. Then they have 30 days to claim their prize. The lottery looks forward to meeting winners and as soon as they claim the names go up on the website. Winners are chosen in random drawings and the odds depends on how many entries are in each drawing. Good luck.

Hi there! Once you enter your tickets into Lucke-Rewards, there is no reason for you to keep your ticket.

Winners are typically notified within 48 hours after a draw. Winners have longer than 48 hours to claim, and the winners board is not updated until winners have successfully claimed their prize by filling out a winner claim form. The winning members are currently being notified and one has claimed.

Hey LZ, please forget my ? about claim deadlines per the second chance drawings, found the info as follows : " Second-Chance Drawing Prize Winners: The Prize Winners of this second-chance drawing promotion must complete a Winner Claim Form at the NCEL Headquarters within thirty (30) days from the first notification date by the NCEL. If all reasonable efforts to locate the winners fail within the thirty (30) calendar day period, the NCEL will select a replacement winner from the drawing alternates." So if I have entered tickets into the second chance drawing in the Extreme Millions Second Chance Promotion after May are my tickets automatically entered into the next drawing? Because their is no current ending date for the second second chance drawing yet am I correct? And I dont see any place where my tickets say they are enteredNC Lottery
Yes. All tickets entered as of May 1 will give you entries into the second Extreme Millions second-chance drawing. And you're right. The date for the second-drawing has not yet been announced. When you submit entries, you will see a confirmation message identifying the ticket number of the entry and telling you that your entry has been recorded. You can also see your entries by clicking “View your entry history” on the Enter Tickets page. If you need additional help, please call 1-855-767-1863.

I like to call first Tuesday first Loseday, lol. Chances of winning are so slim ( for me it seems, anyway ) but especially when the tickets first come out of the chute. Like to wait on the games where the number of tickets left have dwindled WAY down but still have some big prizes left too. Even then I never win much at all ( $ 50.00 tops 2x now ) but the odds are at least a bit better.

If I win pick3 ticket on the green ball, but I win $400.00 and it doubles to $800.00 on my ticket. Do I have to take the ticket to the Head Quarters and will they take out taxes too? NC Lottery
Hi there. All you need to do is take your winning ticket to the nearest regional office. There is no need to come to headquarters unless it's the closest office to you :) Winners of over $100,000 are required to come to headquarters.
