Fifty-two North Carolinians and their companions just returned from a Caribbean cruise they won in the Powerball Power Cruise drawings.
“I had the time of my life,” one of the winners, Suzanne Crawley said. “The last year I was fighting breast cancer, so I finally got to get it off my mind and just be me. This was a blessing for me.”

The winners began their cruise in Tampa, Florida at an opening reception sponsored by the North Carolina Education Lottery. From there, they sailed to Key West, Florida and Cozumel, Mexico.
Over $150,000 in cash prizes were awarded throughout the trip to the winners from the 23 participating states and Puerto Rico. Along the way, the winners watched performances from the Goo Goo Dolls, Flo Rida and Macy Kate. The five-day cruise also offered plenty of opportunities to visit the full service spa, dine at one of the many onboard restaurants or book a shore excursion.
