Fayetteville man claims $150,000 lottery prize

The holidays weren’t over yet for Keith Goodman Jr. of Fayetteville who just won the top prize of $150,000 in the holiday-themed game, Season’s Gold.

Goodman’s good luck happened Sunday when he purchased the $5 ticket at the Fast Mart on Cliftdale Road in Fayetteville. He claimed his prize Monday and after federal and state tax withholdings he took home a check for $104,253.

Season’s Gold was one of five holiday-themed games that began in November. Two more top prizes of $150,000 remain to be claimed in the game. 
 
Ticket sales from instant games like Season’s Gold make it possible for the lottery to raise more than $600 million a year for education. For details on how lottery funds have made a difference in all of North Carolina’s 100 counties, click on the “Impact” section of the lottery’s website.

Once again, two grand prize winners from the Ealiegh and Fayetteville areas. Like clockwork. Look through any winners list for any amount and you will see a 3:1 ration of winners from the Raleigh area to about a 100-150 mile radius in any direction. Pure chance, though, right? Riiiiight... NC Lottery
It's not easier to win the lottery in once place over the other. There are just more people taking a chance to win there. We can assure you that if you move to Raleigh or Fayetteville it does not become easier to win a lottery prize there. The lottery can only work if everyone has the same chance to win, and no matter where you live you have the same chance to beat the odds as someone anyplace else.

Still no posted winners on the second chance drawings . What is the problem ? NC Lottery
Hi there, Stephen. We do not know what you mean. As soon as players claim their prize, the winners are update. You must select the "Draw" icon in your player dashboard. Then select the second tab titled, "Second Chance ." Then, in the right corner, you must deselect my entries and change the drop-down menu from "Active" to "All."
