Wake County woman celebrates $100,000 win

Xiaoming Zheng of Raleigh is starting the week on a high note after winning $100,000 playing $4,000,000 Platinum Payout.

She bought the $20 ticket at the Harris Teeter on Kildaire Farm Road in Cary.

Zheng claimed her prize Monday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required state and federal tax withholdings, she took home $69,507.

The $4,000,000 Platinum Payout game began in 2016 with three top prizes of $4 million, five $1 million prizes, and 12 $100,000 prizes. One top prize, two $1 million prizes, and four $100,000 prizes remain to be claimed.

Ticket sales from instant games like $4,000,000 Platinum Payout make it possible for the lottery to raise more than $600 million a year for education. Why doesn't the scan and check ticket app work anymore? I haven't had any problems with it until now. It will not let you know if you win when you scan the ticket or collect your points. NC Lottery
Hi Bruce, we have a ticket checker and a ticket scanner for point entry. They are two separate functions on the app. If you are having issues with either of those functions, please try restarting the app.

Again!!!Majority of the big prize winners are from Raleigh or 100-150 mile radius.It’s like the ncel putting all the winning tickets in the triad and Raleigh area.Look at the results if you don’t believe me.They’re geographically bias!! NC Lottery
Hi John- We wanted to reply here and let you know we don’t know where the winning tickets will be and it is no easier to win the lottery in once place over another. The triangle and triad are simply highly populated and have more people playing the lottery. If you live in these areas it is not easier to win. No matter where you live you have the same chance to beat the odds as anyone else.
