Video:'Big Win' means dream trip to Hawaii

Kimberly Hansen of Mint Hill is going to take a dream trip to Hawaii after she won $5,000 on the Big Win scratch-off ticket.

 She bought the $5 ticket at the Earp's Express on Brighton Park Drive in Charlotte. She took the ticket home and scratched it on her porch. When she saw what she won, she couldn't believe it.

"I started screaming," Hansen said.

Ticket sales from instant games like Big Win make it possible for the lottery to raise more than $600 million a year for education.

I see last nights LFL drawing was good to NC, especially WNC! What's that make now LZ? In honor of Fat Tuesday, I'm gonna guess a baker's dozen 2nd tier winners for NC !?!? NC Lottery

Congrats Kimberly. LZ, is there really around 930,000 members of the "players club"? That's a lot of new members in less then a year!! Side bar here; I saw a person last week buy 2 rolls of $30 tics & 2 rolls of the new $20 tics (cash). That's $3000. and YES, I saw them enter every ticket into the LZ with their phone. 1200 entries into the x the cash & 60 entries into the extreme. That's more entries then most of us will have in either contest. Hard to compete with players like that. Clerk said she sees that regularly.... NC Lottery
