$255,184 Cash 5 jackpot means a dream home for Person County woman

Rochelle Turrentine of Roxboro said she plans to use a $255,184 Cash 5 jackpot to get her dream home. 

“It’s a dream come true,” Turrentine said. “I want to get a three-bedroom home so all of my grandbabies can come over.”

Turrentine bought the $1 Quick Pick ticket at the Buy & Go on North West Ephesus Church Road in Chapel Hill. The ticket beat odds of one in 749,398 to win Sunday’s drawing. She checked the numbers Monday morning when she woke up.

“I was like, ‘Oh my God,’” Turrentine said. “I couldn’t believe it.”

Turrentine claimed the jackpot a few hours later at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required state and federal tax withholdings, she took home $179,919.  

Ticket sales from draw games like Cash 5 make it possible for the lottery to raise more than $600 million dollars a year for education.

why would i go attend a live drawing when they will do the same thing set the machine for certain balls to come out. NCEL need to stop ripping people out of money. when i see these numbers come out then i will think other wise. 13,14,21,31,32

Will they ever play these numbers 13,14,21,32,35 I think anybody that can fix the computer to play certain numbers is a scam and that's exactly what ncel is doing. Never seen these come out. Always 1 off what a rip off. NC Lottery
