When they first got word that they had won a brand new Jeep, Richard and Barbra Whitlow thought the news was too good to be true. “It was fantastic,” Barbara said. “We couldn’t believe it.”
There’s nothing unbelievable now. This week, the couple went to Lake Norman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Cornelius in Iredell County and picked up their brand new, white Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Richard became the seventh and final winner of a second-chance drawing in the lottery’s Jeep Brand scratch-off game. He beat odds of 1 in 124,242 in the final drawing to get his choice of a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, Jeep Grand Cherokee, or Jeep Renegade Trailhawk, each with a total prize value of $45,203.
Barbara said they “fell in love with the Grand Cherokee at first sight.” “Even after looking at the other options,” she said, “we kept coming back to this one.”
The game ended June 1 and players have until Aug. 30 to claim any remaining prizes. During the game, players won four top prizes of $200,000 and seven Jeeps.
