Lucky numbers help Reidsville man win $191,185 Cash 5 jackpot

George Mitchell of Reidsville said a lucky set of numbers helped him win a $191,185 Cash 5 jackpot.

“I’ve been playing the same numbers for the last five years,” Mitchell explained.

He used them again when he stopped by the Stop N Shop on U.S. 158 East in Reidsville and bought a $1 ticket for Wednesday’s drawing.

“When I heard the numbers I was in disbelief,” Mitchell said. “I didn’t have that ticket with me. I knew the numbers by heart and didn’t need it. I checked again in the morning just to make sure, and even took it to the store to have them check.” 

Sure enough the ticket beat odds of one in 749,398 to win the drawing.

He claimed the jackpot Friday. After required state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $134,788. He plans to use some of the money to pay bills.

Congratulations on your BIG win! I hope someday I will WIN!!! I have been playing two sets of numbers from the very beginning of the start of the NC lottery. Mostly win a dollar on them, but I did win 3 numbers right on April 11th 2018. But that was a long time coming out for me. The last time I won 4 numbers right was JUNE 14th 2016... coming up on two years now, unless I win 4 numbers right before the 14th of this Month. I highly doubt It will though. I play 3 dollar Cash 5 every day. My picks and a quick pick. Waiting on the morning I get up and check to see if I'm a winner. I get excited thinking this might be the day. But nope, not this time! So I keep on playing, hoping to hit it big just one time. Would love to be debt free, and take some vacation down to Key West, FL. Good Luck everyone!NC Lottery

congrats I hope to someday WIN!!! always playing these numbers and they are always 1 number off. 13,14,21,32,35 or 7,14,21,32,35 playing these set of combinations for a long time. I was told by the NCEL customer service they will come out to keep playing them NC Lottery
