Video: First Tuesday scratch-offs are HIT-ting stores

This First Tuesday of July, we are introducing five new scratch-off tickets- the HIT ticket series. Together these tickets offer over $121 million in total prizes and are packed with a whole lotta $50, $100, $300, $500, and $5,000 prizes. Will you “HIT” it big?

For $1 and $2, try the HIT $50 or HIT $100 ticket. With over $2.5 million in $50 prizes and $5.5 million in $100 prizes, these tickets are sure to spread some feel-good wins.

We’ve also jampacked our $3 HIT $300 Crossword scratch-off with $300 prizes and topped it off with four top prizes of $75,000. For $5, the HIT $500 ticket is filled with over $7,000,000 worth of $500 prizes.

Completing the HIT series is the $10 HIT $5000 ticket. This scratch-off offers over $6,000,000 in $5,000 prizes and five top prizes of $1,000,000. No matter the game, you have lots of opportunities to HIT a win.

Approximate overall odds of winning including breakeven prizes are listed below:
-    HIT $50: One in 4.83. Odds of winning a $10,000 top prize are one in 1,680,000.
-    HIT $100: One in 4.65. Odds of winning a $30,000 top prize are one in 1,200,000.
-    HIT $300 Crossword: One in 4.13. Odds of winning a $75,000 top prize are one in 1,200,000.
-    HIT $500: One in 4.18. Odds of winning a $250,000 top prize are one in 1,440,000.
-    HIT $5000: One in 3.90. Odds of winning a $1,000,000 top prize are one in 1,680,000.

I was talking about the cash value after winning the mega million now you know it's no lottery game that's going to pay out that much and powerball is only 110 million

@BEVERLY R.: Hi Beverly, It is up to the retailer to decide which tickets they want to carry in their store. While many do opt to stock new games, some would rather keep older tickets. You should be seeing the new '777' game in more stores near you soon.

I HAVE STOPPED AT ABOUT 5 DIFFERENT STORES IN THE DURHAM AREA AND NONE HAD THE 777 GAME. ONE RETAILER SAID I WAS TALKING ABOUT THE PREVIOUS 777. I SAID NO IT IS ON THE WEB SITE. HE SAID HE HAD NOT HEARD ABOUT A NEWER 777 GAME NC Lottery
Our apologies for the confusion, Michael! The old '777' game is on pick-up from retailers and the new '777' game is in the process of being distributed. You should be seeing it in more stores near you shortly.

I stopped at 3 stores in the Triangle area today and none of them had the latest 777 game. NCEL should require all retailers to make available the new games when they debut first Tues of the month. If the retailer's ticket kiosk doesn't have space for the new tickets, remove some older tickets to make room. It levels the playing field for players when everyone has a chance to try the new scratchers when they debut. I notice this situation often; some retailers take a while to stock the new tickets. Others, will stock 1 or 2 new tickets but not all. Again, not leveling playing field for customers. I know you say retailers have discretion on what/when to stock but this shouldn't be an option; when NCEL debuts tickets on first Tuesday, ALL retailers should put them out for sale. And that includes ALL debuted tickets, i.e., if NCEL debuts 4 tickets All four should appear in every NC retailer.

The website shows a $5 "777" ticket also debuted on 7/3. This ticket is identical in design to the "777" issued a few months back. This new ticket should have been a different color from the previous one to avoid confusion. Someone will buy an older 777 (which has fewer top prizes remaining) thinking it is the newest one. When you issue ticket that have the same name as a previous one, the new ticket should be at least different color and preferably different design too. NC Lottery
