A new star just joined the lottery’s instant game lineup called $10,000,000 Colossal Cash, a premium scratcher that will give you four chances to win $10 million and 21 chances at a $1 million prize.
The top prize of $10 million is the largest instant prize that currently can be won in North Carolina.
Sixteen of the $1 million prizes can be won instantly. The remaining five $1 million prizes will be awarded in five second-chance drawings that will occur throughout the life of the game. That’s the most $1 million second-chance prizes that the lottery has offered in an instant game so far.
Those drawings give those who play Colossal Cash a second-chance at winning a big prize. In all, the new game will have more than $370 million in prizes.
The $30 price tag and all the premium prizes makes $10,000,000 Colossal Cash a top-shelf scratch-off. For the $10 million prize, winners can choose either $500,000 a year for 20 years or a discounted lump sum of $6 million. For the $1 million prize, winners choose $50,000 a year for 20 years or a $600,000 lump sum.
Each ticket also features 5X, 10X, and 50X multiplier features and “Fast $100 Bonus” and “Fast $500 Bonus” play spots.
The approximate odds for winning a prize are:
- 1 in 3.9 million to win a $10 million prize.
- 1 in 990,000 to win a $1 million prize instantly.
- 1 in 2.83 to win a prize, including a break-even prize of $30.
The odds for winning $1 million in a second-chance drawing will depend on how many entries each drawing gets.
