During Hurricane Florence, one of our biggest concerns is your safety. We want everyone to be cautious when it comes to claiming prizes during the storm.
We’ll be monitoring the weather at lottery headquarters in Raleigh and at each of our claim centers. If it starts to pose a hazard, we’ll close the centers. If that happens, we’ll post the closing information on our website and on our social media pages. So before you head to a claim center, please check to see if it’s open during the storm.
Right now the Wilmington Claim Center will close at 1 p.m. on Wednesday. All other claim centers are operating as normal.
After you win a prize you have plenty of time to claim it, so please don’t risk going out in bad weather. If you won a draw game, you have 180 days to claim. If you won a scratch-off prize, you have 90 days from the game’s end date to claim.
All lottery drawings will take place as scheduled. If you’re concerned about getting tickets during the storm, remember, you can always get draw game tickets through online play.
Please stay safe! We’ll have your checks waiting for you after Flo leaves.
