Cash 5 jackpot reaches $1.2 million

The Cash 5 jackpot is getting near record territory again! The jackpot for Tuesday’s drawing is $1.2 million. It’s the third largest Cash 5 jackpot on record in North Carolina.

Largest Cash 5 Jackpots:

•    $1.7 million: 17 people shared the jackpot in June 2017
•    $1.35 million: Three people split the jackpot in May 2011
•    $1.18 million: Arthur and Helen Hemby of Sanford claimed the jackpot in August 2017
•    $1.14 million: Homer Buffaloe of Zebulon won the jackpot in March 2013
•    $1.05 million: James Michael, Dennis Michael, and William Ward won the jackpot in December 2018

This is the second time in the last two months that the Cash 5 jackpot has reached over $1 million. The last happened on Dec. 21, 2018. A Davie County family won the $1.05 million jackpot. You can read their story here.

In November, the lottery made changes to the game so that the jackpots would get larger faster. Jackpots now start at $100,000 instead of $50,000. If no one wins a jackpot it will grow by at least $10,000. Remember, you can get your Cash 5 ticket at any retail location that sells lottery tickets, or you can buy them through Online Play.

Last night's $1.5 million Cash 5 jackpot was won by a player in Whiteville! The winning numbers were 3-9-22-28-30.

All good LZ. Sorry if my comment came off a little strong. On a good note, I got a $10 LFL ticket Monday & chose 12 as the LB on all 5 lines & let the computer pick the other numbers & won $66. So I got house money to buy a few extra C5 tickets for a the rest of the month. No need to go all in all at once............NC Lottery

Hey LZ, did you have a brain fart when you answered James question. All the draw games show that info after the drawing. Just click on "game info". They all show the prize payout and distribution for NC.....NC Lottery
Thanks for clarifying, Denver! We were asking if he meant the statement of "XYZ winners won a total of $XYZ" that is located at the top of the Pick 3 and Pick 4 pages, but not at the top of the other games. You are correct that every game shows a breakdown at each prize level as well! Apologies for not being clear in our initial reply.

Has anyone had trouble playing on online because your location cannot be geographically verified, something to do with your provider of phone service NC Lottery

Once again the jackpot has reach a fever high again. I thought about how the last big winners won. James Michael, his brother Dennis Michael, and his brother-in-law William Ward to a $1,055,993 Cash 5 jackpot win. I have spent way more than 30 dollars they spent on playing this game when it reach 400,000. I know, play with the money you have on hand to spend. Well, guess what! Tonight is the last of my money to play with. I have spread it as far as it will go. If it's not won tonight, guess I'm out of luck. Spent my last 20.00 on tickets for tonight's drawing. Either I win something momentous or nothing at all. Over the course of playing, just won a dollar here and a dollar there. Nothing to gloat over. I'm sure the 1.2 is going to be won tonight! Hope it's in my county, that has not had a winner in a very long time....good luck everyone!

I think you have a better chance of winning the cash 5 in South Carolina the odds are much more lesser than the NC lottery. Thats why they have more people playing the cash 5 in SC than in NC

Well for a buck and a lot of luck everyone has the same chance. With 7000 places to buy a ticket plus online, whether it be a QP or your own numbers. We ALL have the same exact chance of winning. Haven't seen any cash 5 winners from Fayetteville lately. I'm sure the 1.2 is going to be won in either Raleigh, Charlotte, Reidsville, Rocky Mount, or some place far off.

Hey M M, I think I had that problem last year around this time when my bank issued me a new debit card. Even though the 16 digits on the front is the same you will have a new expiration date and 3 digit code on the back. First thing is call the 800# to activate your new card. Then enter your new card into your players club account and make sure it is tagged/checked as your primary card.

Has anyone else been having trouble with funding their accounts? Ive used the same card for the past month and then it stopped working and when I called to figure out the problem, I was told that I entered my card info didn't match... It worked for a full month before then. I deleted the card info and re entered it with my bank info on hand. Still nothing. Called my bank and everything is good on their end and I can make any other purchase. I would really like to be able to play online again.
