Wednesday night, a ticket sold at the Time Saver Food Mart on Washington Street in Whiteville matched all five numbers to win the $1,482,698 jackpot.

Here are the winning numbers: 3-9-22-28-30.

If you do have the winning ticket, you have 180 days from the drawing to claim your prize.

This is the second time in two months, a Carolina Cash five ticket has won over $1 million. This is also the second largest Cash 5 jackpot on record in North Carolina. The largest jackpot so far in the game was $1.7 million that was won in June 2017.

Is this really that people win? I have playing lottery for 15 yrs but never win!!!!. Is this true? I have putting points in second chance lucky reward having many points but never been pick ? looks they pick the people they know ? or is not really!!!!. Please be truthfully to others God is seeing what you are doing wrong , picking the people you know is not good or pick people from your town. Do right we all the same in God .NC Lottery
It's true, people really win -- but it's all random! We wish every player could win a big prize, but unfortunately that is not the case. Truth is, it takes a lot of luck to win a prize of any size no matter who you are and no matter where you live. Best of luck to you!

why is there a uncanny amount of winnings occurring in the east?seems like it would happen up in the western & Piedmont every now and then.Just saying its statistically unusual. NC Lottery
We've definitely seen a fair share of winners from the areas you mentioned, Scottie! Just this week we've had winners from Charlotte, Raleigh, and last night's Cash 5 jackpot was won in Shelby!

Hey LZ! Just curious as to why the cutoff is $99,999 on a scratch off or a draw? If the person who gets lucky lives in Cherokee Co or Brunswick Co or Ashe Co or Currituck Co wouldn't it be much simpler to accept wins of $100,000 at any NCEL office? I totally understand wins north of that but one dollar! Eeally???NC Lottery
That's a great question, James. The simple answer is that the cutoff for winners to come to HQ to claim their prize had to be somewhere, and that is what was chosen. We hope that winners of $100,000 or more don't mind driving a few hours to lottery headquarters to claim their prize! :)

JP, I respect your enthusiasm . But there is no way anyone has ever put in a 100,000 points in any individual contest. Whether it be a monthly, weekly or 2nd chance !! Just too unrealistic to even take seriously. You say you "usually" put in that many points, which could mean "regularly". Very unlikely anyone has the means to acquire that many points regularly.

Hey James, The more entries you make into a drawing, the more chances you have to win. But having even just ONE entry in a drawing gives you a chance to win, there is no minimum to qualify you. Hope this helps!

Dang, my guess was wrong. I thought the new 2nd chance tickets would be the suite/family of $$$ every week for life scratch off. That was a very popular ticket and one of my favorites. The $10 one was loaded with $100 & $500 wins. Maybe down the road we'll see a reload.
