Rolling out a fresh new Lucke-Rewards and Online Play

Lucke-Rewards and Online Play are getting a refresh. We’re making some exciting upgrades that you’re going to love. In preparation, Lucke-Rewards and Online Play will be unavailable on the app and online this weekend while we move to the new experience. 

The last day to purchase in Online Play or enter tickets for Lucke-Rewards will be Saturday, Oct. 26. Don’t worry though, we’ll be back up and running on Monday, Oct. 28 with a new look and more ways for you to play and earn points. Here’s a breakdown of what you need to know.

First, all of your points and information will transfer. You won’t lose out on anything. In fact, you’ll gain bonus points when you sign into the new experience for the first time.

Second, not only is there a fresh look, but both Lucke-Rewards and Online Play have new features that make it easier for you to play and win.

Lucke-Rewards:

The prizes are going to get bigger and better for Lucke-Rewards players. Here’s a small preview. In November, we’re giving away $50,000 to one lucky player in our monthly drawing. That’s the largest single Lucke-Rewards monthly prize that we’ve ever given away. That’s only one of the thrilling prizes we’re going to offer.
In addition to exciting prizes, we’re also adding fresh new ways to earn points, including interactive games and other activities that give you points just for taking part.

Online Play:

We’re offering a new auto-renew feature for players who get their tickets through Online Play. This lets you set up recurring purchases for your favorite games every few weeks so you never miss a draw.
Also, if you have an account for Online Play, or if you upgrade your account, you’ll have some big bonuses coming your way.

Lottery Mobile App:

In order to bring you these exciting features at your fingertips, on Monday, Oct. 28, we’ll need you to take a few moments and update your mobile app. If you’re an iOS user with automatic updates turned on, your app will automatically update. Otherwise, just pop into the App store to update. I was finally able to get around Lucke-Rewards not loading. I went into incognito mode and it works perfectly. I went back to my non-incognito and it still does not load there. But Im ok with incognito. Less cookies. Peace

Ever since you "fixed" the website, I have been unable to enter the 2nd Chance drawings as I have been doing every day for well over a year. Now we keep getting an ERROR message stating that we are in GA???? We LIVE in HAYESVILLE, NC. Our computer locations are displaying correctly. Our WIFI signal must come from GA as we are only a few miles from the NC/GA border. This new "restriction" is completely unfair (is it even legal??) as we are RESIDENTS of NC. Guess we will start buying GA Lottery tickets instead if this cannot be resolved. Signed, VERY FRUSTRATED in NC.

The only email I have received was after my first phone contact on October 28 stating that my account had been reset, and I could now use the site, which, obviously is incorrect. I have had 2 chat sessions and 4 telephone conversations regarding the issue. No one told me that I also had to provide a notarized affadavit in order to have the account cleared. There is also no indication in the error box that pops up when you try to purchase. I am still at a loss as to why I need to reverify my identity when it is you who is at fault for the not so smooth transition. I have been playing online since inception, which you can verify by looking at my account information. I have a balance on my account which I can't use, I can not make a deposit, and I am sure that I am not the only person having these issues. I have contacted the 3 local stations here in Charlotte, as well as WRAL in Raleigh and asked them to do an investigative report on the process. I am also filing a complaint with the NC Attorney General.

If you click that you will see the camera pop up to let you scan a ticket. Hi Judy, If you are on an Android device, please delete and reinstall your app. On an Apple device, please make sure you have the most up-to-date version installed from the App Store. Once you open the new app, there will be a circular blue button with a barcode on it that floats in the lower right over every screen in the app. Just click on that and it will open up the ticket checker and scanner that you can toggle back and forth between!

Hi William, Thanks for the feedback. The 500 point bonus you're referring to was for a first sign-on on the old Lucke-Rewards experience. Folks who sign in with their existing account on the new site or create a new account will get 100 points for their first sign-on as well as an additional 100 when upgraded for Online Play. We are working out a little glitch and some folks are not receiving the 100 points for upgrading, but that should be fixed soon. Hi DL, The new app isn't available for download from the App Store quite yet. We're hoping to get approval from Apple soon. At that point you can update your app and your totals should be correct and you should also be able to use the camera to scan tickets to collect and enter points. As for the app, if you are on an Android device, yes, you will need to completely delete and reinstall the app to get the new version. More prizes with smaller amounts would not be the best solution to have greater chances for all here to have a shot at winning. The BEST idea is to LIMIT the number of DAILY entries players can enter per each giveaway . You have some people here ( many are the repeat winners, chances are) who work in retail stores that sell tickets..this gives them access to far more tickets to enter than the average players.( dumpster divers have this edge too for that matter) All online draws elsewhere have limits, don't know why it can't be done here. Suggested this before, just fell on deaf ears.

I agree with my fellow players below. 50,000 is nice but with only (1) winner for the month the odds will be incredible! I will end up putting at least 2x to 3x more entries in the Carolina Panthers giveaway than i will the 1-winner 50k. Reasoning is because there will probably be less entries for this promotion or if not the tickets,gift card,etc will at least have (5) winners. Most people that enter these drawings with the exception of the convenience store owners and employees know we don't stand a chance on this promotion. No need to copy and paste the remark that it only takes 1-ticket to win:) Most of us just want to win something no matter what the amount. Tx

It is great to have this one $50000 prize the problem that you all are not getting is trying to make more people happy and excited to play. That could have been 50 people winning a 1000. The number of players have increased, so it is getting harder and harder to WIN. I am just expressing what I am hearing in the streets to the NCEL. People would in turn reinvest that 1000 right back to the Games. Where does the money come from for Second Chance. If it also comes from losing tickets then why limit the first time winning tickets instead of putting all the cash on the first chance tickets. Just a suggestion.

Hi there Tariq, Second-chance drawings are entered by purchasing a scratch-off ticket that has a second-chance drawing as a feature of that specific game. For those, you must scan or manually enter the ticket into your account. Once you have scanned the ticket, you will be automatically entered into that game’s specific second-chance drawing and we will let you know if your name was drawn to win! Please note that entering your tickets into second-chance drawings will be temporarily halted while we migrate over to our new experience this weekend, so just hold onto any tickets you want to enter until next week.

LZ, do you know if we will have to adjust our "cookies" to allow pop ups? I have a 10 yr old pc with windows 7. everything works fine with the current web site. Also a reminder to folks about downloading the app. Last time it had this old man scratching his head for a while. After I uninstalled , I downloaded several times. Could not get it to work. Till it hit me. I had not installed the download. It works fine on my simple trac phone. I must say I use my desk top for almost everything though.NC Lottery

We can certainly understand your frustration, Tim. Unfortunately Android users must take the extra steps because Google currently does not permit apps that offer in-app lottery gaming and so our app is not available in the Google Play store.
