The new Lucke-Rewards and Online Play experience are here

The new Lucke-Rewards and Online Play are here! We’ve added fresh new features, bigger prizes, and more ways to play and earn. Let’s walk you through what you’re going to see.

The first time you sign in, you’ll be asked to verify your information and agree to new terms and conditions. You will also have the option to verify your account for Online Play. If you choose to verify your identity, you’ll be eligible for the Welcome Bonus. We’ll match 50% of your first deposit in the new experience up to $100. This bonus is available to all Online Play users.

Every player will get 100 Lucke-Rewards points when they confirm their information, and those who verify their identity will receive an additional 100 points!

Once you confirm your information, it’s time to check out the new features.

Player Dashboard:

Head to the Player Dashboard located at the top right hand side of your screen. When you click, you’ll see a different layout that’s easier to navigate. You’ll see primary account details such as points balance, wallet balance, and drawing entries. There are also links to your balance, Lucke-Rewards activities and histories, and account details.

Online Play:

If you click on the My Account option on the Player Dashboard, you’ll be able to find all of your Online Play information. You can see your purchase history, and manage your purchases. You can also take advantage of the new Auto Renewal feature which lets you set up recurring purchases for your favorite games every few weeks so you never miss a draw.

Earn Points:

We’ve added an exciting opportunity for players to earn extra points. All you have to do is click on the Earn Points icon on the Player Dashboard. This will direct you to a page where you’ll find interactive games and activities that give you points just for participating. It’s a free and fun way to get extra points.

Lottery Mobile App:

In order to bring you these exciting features at your fingertips we’ll need you to take a few moments and update your mobile app. If you’re an iOS user with automatic updates turned on, your app will automatically update. Otherwise, just pop into the App store to update. If you have an Android, you will need to delete and reinstall the app. You can click here for instructions on how to install the fresh new app from our site.

The $5 minimum is ridiculous, despite the "cost for e-commerce purchases." Given the number of comments on this new change, it looks like Lottery will be losing a lot of online players, including myself.

Hi Lee. Thanks for your feedback. The minimum requirements for funding and purchasing are a direct result of transaction fees. Like all e-commerce purchases, there is a cost involved. To off-set that cost and ensure we are meeting our mission in raising money for education, we increased the minimum funding and purchasing requirements for buying online.

You need to remove this silly $5 minimum. You already have our money. There is no reason to not allow us to determine the level of play that works for us. And you really need to bring back the simple extend play option on open tickets. Someone completely over-engineered the whole favs, autoplay, etc.

We'll help you find it, Stephanie! First, please make sure you are using the most up-to-date version of the app. Then, you can sign into the app and click on the circular blue button in the lower right corner. That will open the ticket checker and scanner to collect points--you can toggle back and forth between the two using the button at the bottom of the screen. Just make sure you have enabled camera access in your phone's settings. Good luck!

If it continues, please reach out to our help team at nclottery.com/Help. You can log out of the website by clicking your username in the upper right and then selecting "Sign Out" at the bottom of that menu. If you click on your username and aren't seeing the option to log out, please hit CTRL and - on your keyboard, as your screen is probably too zoomed in to see the option. Hope this helps.

Exactly... When I was asked to verify my identity i was asked for the last 4 digits of my SSN. I entered that in and was told my identity can't be verified. There is absolutely no reason for this. Whatever 3rd party vender you're using for verification is not an official one. (Lowest bidder probably). This has nothing to do with data breaches. You're going to lose more revenue from this than you could ever save by going the cheap route. BTW an official verification service will match your info with actual government records not do a google search or background check on you.

I have to say that my experience with the new app was nothing but positive. I did read the comments here first which I think helped alot. There are so many nclottery fakes in the app store, that I can't help but wonder if that is why so many had problems. I almost fell for one myself, but the pick 2 gave it away. Just shocked that a old dude that is not tech savvy breezed right thru it. Love the new scanner except for the sound, but the shock got me ready for my grandkids Halloween pranks. Can't wait to play online and hopefully win something. Thanks LZ, definitely worth the hype

Hi there, Cherylyn. That’s not the experience we want you to have. The chat should be working. We are experiencing a higher than normal volume of calls and chats, which can cause a delay for a representative to help you. You can try calling to talk to a person, but there is also a wait time for that as well. As for the cart issue, we can try to share with you the information that we know. If you are using one device and then switching to another, your cart will not transfer. It only stays with the device in which you added the contents to your cart and you must have cookies enabled. If you are using the same device and logging in and out and are still having issues with your cart disappearing and you have cookies enabled, please let us know.

Redeemed large amount of points for Wicked drawing and now can't find any history of that transaction anywhere on new site. The new Lucke Reward history page doesn't show any history before changeover. The $5 minimum play is a horrible idea and the response from lottery officials about transaction fees doesn't pass the sniff test. Like others said, the transaction fee should relate to when money is deposited into play fund. What transaction fee would there be after that? I foresee some bad press on that one.

Hi, Evelyn. You should be seeing a confirmation when you enter your tickets into Lucke-Rewards. If you want to check, you can also select, "point history" in the drop down menu. If you are buying via mobile you select, "buy" at the footer. If you are on a browser, select, "Play Now" on the header. It's the first tab you can select next to the lottery logo at the top of the page. Hope this helps!

Hi there, Pat. You should be able to see that information. Please select, "second-chance draw history" in the drop down menu on your browser. If you're using your mobile app, please select "lucke-rewards history." Once you get to that page, please scroll to the far right to 2nd chance. Let us know if you still cannot see your points history.

If you are referring to Lucke-Rewards, you should have received a confirmation that your ticket was successfully scanned with the amount of Lucke-Rewards points you earned. You can also go and see your points history in the drop down menu. If you are still not seeing your points, something is wrong. This new app update for android is horrible. The old app worked great. Can't scan anything without errors. The old app looked better and was easier to navigate. I don't need bouncing balls to make my experience better. I'm not 4 years old anymore. I used to be able to scan the tickets with my phone. Now I get errors and a confusing interface. We did have an issue with scanning tickets with the app, but the issue has been resolved. Your ticket checker should be working. Enough double talk already. You’ve taken my money for year without no issue, why do you think suddenly I should print a page, drive to a notary and pay them, then mail form and copies of license and ss card somewhere out of state and wait for you to sort it all out? Hi! You've already received a surfeit of comments about the $5 minimum, but here's one more. You mention transaction fees, but that doesn't make any sense to me. You already have taken a minimum of what was $4 and is now $10 on a wallet deposit. You ALREADY have that revenue booked. It's just a spend-down after that point. Are you getting double-transaction fees from the vendor? For both ACH/Debit/Paypal transactions to fund the wallet and ALSO on every purchase? This presents a very much undesired mode of playing. I'd buy a single ticket at a time, and I would absolutely fund my wallet for some period of time. I don't want to make $5 worth of purchases at the time - and I shouldn't have to, because YOU ALREADY HAVE MY MONEY. The person that thought this was a good idea needs to be fired.

Hi Donald, What type of browser are you using? First, please try clearing your browser cache and then logging in again. Once you've logged in, wait until all of those spinning circles in your dashboard have disappeared and the information populates in their place before clicking anything. If you click away while it is still loading, it won't go through. If clearing your cache doesn't work, please try closing your browser or possibly using a different one.

As a part of our new Online Play system, we updated our policies to include a $5 minimum purchase amount to help counter transaction fees. We certainly do not wish to push folks to spend more than they planned to on our lottery games. Our intention was to improve the experience for everyone who chooses to play, and we can see that we have fallen short of that, and for that we apologize.

Please try checking the app store and making sure you have the most recent version of the app installed on your phone (Version 2.0.1). What privacy issues? You already have all my info. How B is my privacy insured by mailing a photocopy of my driver's license and social security card to Lansing MI? Why can you not look at my old information and type it into the new system or ask me for it and I will tell you again? You've been accepting my money for years now you ask all this of me. I can only imagine how much money you are losing because of this. Guy at the gas station never asks for id or my social security card. I played a lot less when I had to go buy physical tickets. Good morning Eddie. The new system no longer has a message center. All of the transaction history information that you get in the message center is still available. Just go to the transaction history, points history, Lucke-Rewards history, or Second Chance history. All of these can be found on the player dashboard. If you're a winner, you'll still receive an email notification, plus a pop up screen will notify you that you won.

Hi Toby, You'll need to enter the Ticket Number, which is the 12-digit number on the back of the ticket above the barcode in the form XXX-XXXXXX-XXX. Then, enter the Entry Number, which is the 12-digit number on the front of the ticket located in the scratch off area in the form XXXXXXXX-XXXX. Be sure to scratch the ticket completely to find the full Entry Number. Hi Mary, we sorry you're frustrated with the new system. We instituted a $5 minimum to help combat card transaction fees. Also I wanted to mention that the minimum is $5 in purchases at one time. If you select "build my numbers" you can select less than $8 in purchases. You can also change your selections to different games or consecutive draws to make your cart equal at least $5.

Horrible update, horrible experience. 1. If you have anything in the cart and get logged off - webpage getting refreshed every 15 seconds, big red window pop-up coming and won't go away. It messes with chat window, for instance - so you lose queue. 2. No cart sync between sessions or web and app. 3. Suddenly you cannot do anything without changing username, and form for change give error about First name field instead 4. To buy just one ticket you need to go thru "6 or 12 or 24" window first, then select 1 ticket, then, if you want random numbers, every time click "clear ticket". previous version was much easier for folks like me who buy 1 ticket. Seens like new version promotes excessive gambling, instead of "play responsibly". NC Lottery

Hi Joanie, the app still has the same winning ticket checker and Lucke Rewards entry scanner as the old app. There is currently an issue with the scanner on some iOS devices and our app development team is pushing an update through Apple to address that as soon possible. The app works great. In on an android note 9.The only thing I'm concerned about is the wicked winnings game isn't listed on active and I can't check the number of entries I've made only point spent unless it's second chance. Also I have a question about second chance. If there are five drawings is each drawing consider it's own? If you win 500 are you disqualified from winning the 5,000,000?NC Lottery
Hi Adan, we're glad you're enjoying the app. Since the Wicked Winnings drawing entry period is closed but the draw date is tomorrow it's not showing up in the Past Drawing section yet. It will be there once we do the drawing though. We're looking into how to improve the entries view as well. Regarding your question on drawings, each drawing is separate and a person could win more than one drawing in a month. A player can only win one prize in a single drawing though, even if that drawing has multiple prizes.

Hi Mike! You can log out of the website by clicking your username in the upper right and then selecting "Sign Out" at the bottom of that menu. If you are on the mobile app, you can log out by clicking the three lines in the upper left and scrolling to the bottom of that menu and clicking "Sign Out". Hope this helps.

We are very positive people always trying to motivate others here and make it a fun place to be but this new upgrade has completely changed our look on things with the lottery online. Sadly it’s a colossal fail and with all the very talented and brilliant programmers and developers out there we are very stunned that this was rolled out in the condition it was we cannot check nor scan tickets except one here and there but then quits working nor can we find any of our points that Allegedly transferred over we are using iPhone 7 Apple. We even called Apple to see if there was something on their end but it wasn’t. We were so excited and couldn’t wait to see the new roll out but sadly it’s been a huge disappointment and customer service really is just giving generic answers which we understand because what can they say it ended up being a fail. Hoping one day these issues are all fixed but we’re going to delete the app and just maybe play a scratch off here and there Best Wishes

On the old app, you could see your total points. Then, when you entered another ticket for points, you saw the total increase, besides the amount of points you received for the individual entries. Now if you want to see your grand total, you have to go to Account Info. Can you please fix this? Also, that menu in the top left corner did absolutely nothing every time I tried. Also, the website is screwed up on the actual site. It seems Sraw Info and Buy Now have switched positions?! I keep clicking that by mistake! The new $5 minimum purchase seems counterintuitive to your play responsibly philosophy. I am not sure how this is justified in terms of transaction cost; the transactions are handled electronically and payment comes from our funded NCEL accounts. I purchase tickets purely for entertainment value – not in a desperate hope to increase my net worth – and it is much easier to rationalize one ticket at a time. I will most likely stop playing online when my funds are depleted and go back to my annual ticket purchase when the mood strikes me (I’ve spent more on the lottery since creating an online account several months ago than in the past decade, fyi). A lot of the time, especially at night, the light can be too dim scanning the normal way, even with lights on in the room. I almost always use that 'flashlight' option. Where's it at now? It's still there, Tim! When you open the ticket scanner, just click on the flashlight icon in the lower right. That should enable it!

Hi Austin, As a part of our new Online Play system, we updated our policies to include a $5 minimum purchase amount to help counter transaction fees. However, you do not have to use it all on one drawing. When you click "Buy" you have the option to "Build My Numbers". There, you can choose how many consecutive drawings you wish to play, and how many plays per drawing. Hope this helps!

The app drains the phone battery so much that the phone gets hot. Discovered how to scan by accident - had to exit the app 3 times in a row for each ticket. It flags current tickets as an "error" - The blue button for scanning doesn't work - if it does respond you simply get a gray screen that does nothing - otherwise it is a great improvement - not.NC Lottery

Looks nice but sadly The camera constantly freezes up and doesn’t work. We’ve tried several times to unload it and reload it and nothing. It took us several times to get to the blog because we kept getting a banner that said “access denied” even though we were already logged in We sent screenshots to the email support desk and hoping I can find a resolution or you are such huge fans of the lottery on the website before but this new one has been really frustrating because it locks up constantly Really hope it’s kinks being worked out. Had really high hopes but so far it hasn’t been working for us and we have iPhone 7 and never had any problems except minor ones with the old application which were quickly resolved.
