Statesville woman wins $200,000 instant prize

JoAnn Mosher of Statesville took a chance on a $5 instant game, Power 5s, and won the top prize of $200,000.

Mosher’s good luck came with a ticket she purchased at Cashion’s Quick Stop on North Old Statesville Road in Huntersville.

She claimed her prize Tuesday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required state and federal tax withholdings, she took home $141,501.

The Power 5s game started in August with five top prizes of $200,000. Two top prizes remains to be won.

Supposedly the system shuts down after 15 minutes of inactivity. However it closes after less than 15 minutes of activity. This is the second time I have tried to send this. What gives? This is so frustrating!!NC Lottery
