Wake County woman wins $646,339 Cash 5 jackpot

Meredith Lee of Holly Springs is the winner of last Wednesday’s Carolina Cash 5 jackpot of $646,339.

Lee bought her lucky Quick Pick ticket at the Harris Teeter on Pisgah Church Road in Greensboro. She claimed her winnings Monday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required state and federal tax withholdings, she took home $457,285.

Cash 5 is a statewide draw game that gives players the chance to win a jackpot every single night. Tickets cost $1 and players can buy tickets at most lottery retailers or through Online Play on the lottery’s website. Tuesday’s jackpot is $256,000.

Hey LZ! I saw a report on WRAL this past week that you want the NCEL to go online with the equivalent of the poker machines like you see in the convenience stores that are supposedly illegal but they're back in stores due to some pending court order or something. Anyway, it sounded like NCEL wants to do a similar thing, but online. Online poker I guess. The report sounded like stores don't like the idea because they're afraid it's going to steal their business. Comments?NC Lottery

Hi Schmeka, Like we explained to Carolyn below, the Nov. 27 Cash 5 jackpot was won by a ticket bought at Harris Teeter and the jackpot from the Nov. 17 drawing was won by a ticket purchased online. Both wins were for very similar amounts - $646,339 and $636,788. Sorry for the confusion.

Hi there Michelle! If you visit your transaction history and scroll to the bottom of the page, you should see a link that will take you to see your past tickets from before the system change.
