Beaufort County woman wins $150,000 Powerball prize

Barbara Goodman of Washington is celebrating after she bought a Powerball ticket and won $150,000.

Goodman bought the $3 Power Play ticket for the March 30 drawing at the Speedway on John Small Avenue in Washington.

She claimed the prize Thursday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required state and federal tax withholdings, she took home $106,126.

The ticket matched numbers on four of the white balls and the Powerball to win $50,000. Because she added the $1 Power Play feature, the prize tripled to $150,000 when the 3X multiplier was drawn. The ticket beat odds of one in 913,129.

The jackpot for Saturday’s Powerball drawing is $101 million or $62.7 million cash.

I just bought a ticket at a gas station and tried to enter it for LZ points. I do it on computer, not through the app. I get a response that I already entered this ticket. I most definitely didn't because I just bought it. What should I do?NC Lottery

Congratulations Barbara enjoy your great blessing. I have a question about the lucky rewards drawing I know you say the more entries you have the better the chance but you all so said you could win with one. What are the odds of winning for all entries. I have been paying for about 5 years and have never won anything. I have heard some people have won more than once. Some time I think is it worth to play at all. Thinking about stop playing. NC Lottery
Hi Gregory, you have it right for the Lucke-Rewards drawings. Each drawing's odds are determined by how many entries in total there for each drawing. Your own odds of winning are determined by how many entries you have and how many entries there are in total. So, the more entries you have the better your odds, but even having just one gives you a chance to win!
