Cash 5 ticket sold in Fayetteville wins $1.3 million jackpot

Sunday’s Carolina Cash 5 drawing produced a $1.3 million win for someone who bought a ticket at a Fayetteville convenience store.

The lucky winner bought the ticket at Carlie C’s IGA on Cedar Creek Road in Fayetteville. The ticket matched all five numbers, 11-21-25-32-33, beating odds of 1 in 962,598.

The winner has 180 days from the drawing to claim the prize.

The jackpot, which totaled $1,354,174, ranked as the third largest won in the history of the Carolina Cash 5 game. The largest jackpot was $1.7 million that was won in June 2017.

I would like to know when you have a winning scratch off ticket and it also a second chance drawing , some stores won’t give the ticket back to you . why ?NC Lottery
Hey there Sharon! When a retailer pays out a prize in their store, they are required to deface and keep that winning ticket. That's why we always recommend entering your ticket into Lucke-Rewards for points and any second-chance entries before cashing it in for prize money.

Great question, Joshua. The chances of winning on a ticket purchased in a store or through Online Play are the same, but the number of people who play online is relatively small when compared to the folks who prefer to buy their tickets in-store. That said, we've certainly had some big winners from online!
