Two Cash 5 players, one from Wake County and the other from Carven County, split Saturday’s Cash 5 jackpot of $302,930.
The lucky winners were Denine Gatling of Cove City and Mark Van Sciver of Cary. Both picked the same set of identical numbers to beat odds of 1 in 962,598 and match all five numbers in the drawing.
Gatling bought her lucky ticket at S&A Mini Mart on N.C. 55 West near Cove City. Van Sciver bought his ticket at the Stop N Go on Old Apex Road in Cary.
Both claimed their half, $151,465, at lottery headquarters on Monday. After required state and federal withholding, each took home $107,162.
Cash 5 is a statewide draw game that gives players the chance to win a jackpot every single night. Tickets cost $1 and players can buy tickets at most lottery retailers and through Online Play on the lottery’s website. Monday’s jackpot is $110,000.
