A dream come true: lottery winner gets his dream Jeep

It’s not often that we get to follow up with our winners after they get their prize money, but when we do, we love to share the news.

You may remember Andrew Lucas of Wilmington. In July, he won $200,000 playing the Blazing 7’s scratch-off ticket. He had the dream of getting a new car.

“My 2004 Isuzu Rodeo recently died,” Lucas said. “I’ve been without a car for the last little bit. Now I’m going to get a brand new Jeep.”

Less than two weeks after claiming, Lucas sent us a picture of him standing in front of his dream Jeep.

“Thanks for making my dreams a reality,” Lucas said.

We couldn’t be happier for you Lucas, and hope you enjoy your new set of wheels.

Kevin D, I agree with you man. I've been playing 2nd Chance (entering massive amount of tickets) and don't win Doo Doo! I believe it's fixed. NCEL need to replace and/or rotate out the number drawers (I haven't had a pic 3 or 4) in a year! Also, get a new draw machine that's colorful.NC Lottery
Hi Treven, Our second-chance drawings are held with a different system than our Pick 3 and Pick 4 drawings. Promotional drawings use a certified Random Number Generator that is housed in a secure room. Our live drawings use ball machines, but we have several different machines and one is randomly selected before each drawing to help add another layer of security. We wish every player could have a big win, but the truth is that it takes a lot of luck to win a prize in any of our drawings. All of our practices are independently audited and reviewed on a regular basis to help ensure security and fairness for our players.

Congratulations, Lucas! Take my advice though.. what ever you do don’t play anymore lottery. You won’t win! I made that mistake and for the last year I have been playing the second chance and players club drawings and have NOT won a dime! I put hundreds if not thousands of entries in without a single win. If you ask me it’s all fixed. But anyway, enjoy your winnings and try to invest.
