Powerball 10X multiplier hit!

If you bought a Power Play ticket in last night’s Powerball drawing, you got a great surprise. For the third time, since it was introduced, the 10X multiplier hit. This means prizes under $1 million increased by 10 times.

In North Carolina, that meant 14 players saw their prize jump from $100 to $1,000! That’s a nice increase.
The 10X multiplier has only been drawn two other times.

Power Play tickets cost $3 and let players multiply their winnings by two to ten times on most prize levels.

Thx for asking that question Barry & thx for the answer LZ. I never watched a drawing and was wondering how they came up with the odds in the "how to play section". So 24+13+3+2+1 = 43 unless the 10x is removed then it is 42 balls. Just pretend they are colored marbles or jelly beans. 24 red,13 white,3 blue, 2 pink and 1 green. Stick your hand in the jar, of course you are going to pull out a redone more often. I think most players assume the PB & MM multipliers all have a 1 in 4 chance of being drawn (not true). Read the info & rules, stay informed players.

Can you please tell me why some retail locations run their tickets backwards? NC Lottery
Hi Elsie, that's because each of our lottery retailer locations has different accounting practices. Whether or not they count backwards by starting with the end ticket, or they begin with 000, the total ticket count is always the same. If you are having issues with a specific retailer not scanning your tickets, please call our customer service team Mon-Fri between 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. at 877-962-7529. Hope this helps.

Hello - Question, as we all know the balls are dropped and the numbered balls are 1-75 or something like that for PB. ONE OF EACH. How many #2 balls #3 #4 #5 and the 10x.balls are in the drop? Thank you. NC Lottery
Hi Barry, The Power Play multiplier is selected prior to the televised Powerball drawing using a random number generator with weighted values for each multiplier option. For each draw there are 24-2X values; 13-3X values; 3-4X values; and 2-5X values. When jackpots are below $150 Million, a 10X value is added. Hope this helps!

The multiplier is based on odds , it has nothing do with what the jackpot or payouts. Here are the odds. The Two is 1:8, Three 1:3, Four 1:14, Five 1:21 and the Ten when in play is a whopping 1:43.

I wish I can win something I play every day and still my numbers don't come out .then if I stop playing them that's when they will come out and good luck to everyone playing and maybe next month I will have some luck since my birthday is September 10&all I want to do for my birthday is win something but. I'm still gonna keep playing and. Sad that it comes out once a year. Considering the huge amount of money that the Powerball pulls in. Obviously,the multiplier is based on the payout nationally.NC Lottery
Hi Rudolph, The 10X multiplier is in play whenever the jackpot is below $150 million. The PowerPlay number is selected randomly prior to each drawing.
